This F-350 is a Love Letter to Harley-Davidson
Both Ford trucks and Harley-Davidson motorcycles are built tough, and there is no better way to commemorate the resemblance between the legendary brands than this custom F-350.
1. Julio Paez
Julio Paez is the owner of 8 Lug Customs in West Park, Florida, and this beautiful display of Harley-Davidson enthusiasm is his own personal truck. The orange and black pickup is a 2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty, which was a theft recovery truck that he purchased from an automotive auction. Julio took his new truck to the Harley-Davidson dealership for inspiration right when he became its new owner, and the rest is history.
2. Stock Engine
Paez decided Ford's stock engine is more powerful than anything he would ever need, so he kept the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 Turbo Diesel engine right where it was. The huge motor delivers 400-horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque, thanks to its collaboration with the TorqShift 6-speed Select-Shift automatic transmission. The Super Duty engine allows him a maximum towing capacity of 18,500 pounds, and a maximum 5th-wheel towing of 24,700 pounds.
3. Suspension Modifications
Unlike most Ford F-350s, Julio took a different approach with his truck's stance. To bring the Super Duty closer to the ground, he installed lowered DJM l-beams in the front, and he dropped the leaf spring hanger brackets in the rear, bringing the entire pickup down to a unique stance. The rear axle was from a Ford F-250, which fits on this truck with F-350 adapters to ensure perfect wheels position.
4. Custom Wheels
The rear tubs on the F-350 were specifically fabricated to fit the new set of American Force 26-inch wheels. All of the wheels are chrome, just like you'd see on a Harley-Davidson, with engraved Harley-Davidson logos on each wheel. All of the wheels got 305/30R26 Zenna Argus-UHP tires.
5. Interior
On the inside, this rugged F-350 received fine new factory black leather seats with Harley-Davidson's screaming eagle logos all around the seats, center console, and floormats. Paez also painted the wood trim throughout the cabin satin black, which blends perfectly with the custom exterior and the overall theme of the truck. To commemorate the bold lifestyle of a Harley-Davidson rider, two Rockford Fosgate amps were placed under the rear seat, which makes the JL Audi system sound ferocious.
6. Exterior
It's no secret that the most work went into the exterior of the truck. On the sides of this unique vehicle, two chrome sport tubes were placed on the rocker panels. You may also see Harley-Davidson's screaming eagle multiple times around the body, like on the Rhino bed liner wall. The body was painted a two-tone PPG Harley Orange and black, which was done at Zamora Paint and Body in Florida. The fine details around the exterior make this F-350 truly special, like the painted headlight frames, the painted grille, and the H-D crests on the exhaust tip.
