Daily Slideshow: This F-150 is an All-Around Joy Machine

When you're a professional drifter you don't just build any F150. This is the kind of madness Vaughn Gittin Jr. came up with.

The Ultimate Fun Haver

When you think about having fun in an F150, what comes to mind? Maybe roasting the tires of your 2nd-gen Lightning? Perhaps tossing your lifted FX4 into the nearest mud pit? Or if you have the coin, how about jumping your Raptor at high speeds while mobbing through the desert? Until Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his RTR team got a hold of this 2015 F150 EcoBoost, there wasn't one truck that could do it all. With Gittin's creativity and a little collaboration, his fantasy became a reality. I present to you the "Ultimate Fun-Haver". Follow the arrows to learn what makes this F150 so special.

Who is Vaughn Gittin Jr.?

Vaughn is a professional drifter and driver of the Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR. He is the owner of three World Drift Series championships, the creator of the Mustang RTR, and an overall Hoonigan. Given his pedigree, we shouldn't at all be surprised he came up with such a ridiculous and cool idea. Building one truck to rule them all was not a one-person job. Vaughn reached out to Kibbetech Offroad to borrow some of their knowledge for the ultimate do-it-all F150.

The Suspension

Kibbetech paired King dual-bypass shocks in the front and triple bypass shocks in the rear to an Airlift Performance system. Knowing the Ultimate Fun Haver's suspension would be pushed to the limit, Kibbetech also built a custom radius arm with a panhard bar rear suspension. Camburg Engineering front upper and lower control arms ensure the fun doesn't end after landing the first jump. All told, the truck has 12 inches of total suspension travel when the airbags are pumped to the max.

The Powertrain

The stock twin turbo 3.5L EcoBoost V6 is a great basis to build upon. Gittin kept the motor in largely stock form, adding only a K&N intake and Magnaflow exhaust to improve efficiency. A Full-Race intercooler was added to keep the coolant from boiling over during Gittin's romps and an ECU tune from Revolution Automotive provides added thrust. The team at RTR later added larger turbos with the goal of generating over 500 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels. A Currie Enterprises floating Ford 9 inch rear end was thrown in to beef up the rear end.

The Look

Gittin's Fun Haver features a modest silver paint job which allows the neon green wheel lips of the 18 x 10 inch RTR wheels to pop. 35 inch Nitto Terra Grappler G2's are the tire of choice. Custom lighting in the grille accompanies Raptor lighting which has been modified to fit the Ultimate Fun Haver. Custom flares by Auto Explosion Custom Auto Body LED lights in the grille and front bumper are my favorite highlights. The truck is wrapped in XPEL Stealth protection film to minimize damage while the truck is drifted on dirt, gravel, or tarmac.

The Interior

You can tell Gittin is a family man. Why else would he install Recaro Sportster seats with Takata race harnesses in the backseat. The answer? The kids. The man cares about the kids. Hopefully the kids will give extra attention to the Recaros and not spill their juice box while dad navigates jumps or rips the Autosport Dynamics handbrake while applying liberal amounts of throttle and counter-steering.

Seeing the Ultimate Fun Haver in Action

If you want to see what the finished product can really do I'd advise you head over to Speedhunters website, YouTube, or type "Vaughn Gittin Jr. Ultimate Fun Haver" into your search engine of choice. I've been lucky enough to see this truck in action at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas and there's no doubt, it is more than eye candy. Gittin's F150 flat-out works. He doesn't hesitate to jump the truck at speeds even the Duke boys would blush at. It's even more fun to see a full-size F150 drift around a closed course while smoking its 35 inch tires. This is one Ford Truck that lives up to the hype.
