This Cybertruck Copy is Actually an F-150 Raptor Underneath

This may look like a Cybertruck, but it's all F-150 Raptor underneath its polarizing skin.

Can't Wait

The Tesla Cybertruck drew very mixed reviews when it was revealed a few months ago thanks to perhaps the most polarizing exterior design in automotive history. But in all fairness, those that love it, well, they love it. Igor Krezic, the owner of Bosnian company Stark Solutions, most certainly fell in that category, and he didn't want to wait for the Cybertruck to arrive. So he did the next best thing - he built one, using a Ford F-150 Raptor as the base.

Two Into One

Krezic is a self-admitted fan of both Ford and Tesla, so it sort of makes sense to want to combine those two interests into one vehicle. Thus, he set about having his crack team tear down an F-150 Raptor and fit it with a homemade Cybertruck body, a process that took a full eight months to complete.

The end result is a very interesting looking thing that may not be a spitting image of Tesla's forthcoming pickup, but it's certainly close enough. And no, it isn't electric-powered either. Rather, this pickup is still running the Raptor's original drivetrain - Ford's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and 10-speed automatic transmission.

Head Turner

Regardless, the end result is most definitely a head-turner, and probably the best kind of advertising Stark could hope for following an initial test drive around the town of Mostar. "Everybody was watching and half of them thought we made a tank because people don't know what the Cybertruck is. One girl even stopped and asked if this is the place where they are producing Tesla Cybertruck," Stark manager Mario Coric told HT Auto.

Close as Possible

"The owner wanted us to combine two opposite sides - Ford and Cyber - because he is a fan of both Tesla and Ford, so we merged two souls into one. This one uses gasoline and Tesla uses electricity. We tried to copy as much as possible but our car is not the same size as the Cybertruck," Coric explained.

Safety Hazard?

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this build is the fact that Stark is now having trouble registering it in Bosnia. Not because of what it actually is, but because its sharp body lines are actually illegal in the country, presumably for safety reasons.

While plenty of people will likely hate this creation and say that Stark ruined a Raptor, we give them credit for daring to be different. And besides, taking this risk has certainly paid off in the advertising department, if nothing else, and that makes it a worthwhile endeavor.
