Previewing the Future

The 2021 Ford Bronco reveal is right around the corner, as the reborn utility is set to debut on July 13. But one thing we won't see at this debut is a pickup truck variant. That figures to join the lineup in another year or so, so for now, we can only dream of what it might look like. But these renderings from artist Mo Aoun give us a pretty good idea of what we can expect.

Easy Decision

If these renderings wind up looking anything like the new Bronco pickup, we'd say the Jeep Gladiator is in trouble. And given that model's popularity, it makes perfect sense for Ford to build one. Since the Bronco is set to be built on the same chassis as the Ranger, it's also going to be quite easy for Ford to put together, too.

Good Measure

Transforming a four-door Bronco into a pickup means that Ford simply has to tack on an equally squared-off bed in the rear, with a very upright rear window to match the reborn utility's styling. For good measure, Aoun threw in a couple of two and four-door Bronco renderings that look equally stunning, too.

Modding Masterpiece

All of those renderings also feature a host of upgrades as well. Which makes sense, because the Bronco is going to be a very popular vehicle to upgrade. Much like the Jeep Wrangler has become the Harley-Davidson of the off-road utility world - a vehicle you rarely see in bone stock configuration.

History Repeating

Ford is keen to look back with the introduction of the new Bronco, as it should. This is a vehicle with a rich history, and the original version was offered as a pickup, along with other variants including even a roadster. And while the production numbers of those Bronco variants paled in comparison to the SUV version, we don't expect history to repeat itself in that regard.

Stylish Alternative

These days, off-road focused vehicles and mid-size trucks are red hot. Thus, we expect the new Bronco pickup to enjoy a rather robust market when it arrives. And for good reason - who wants to drive some boring, vanilla-styled truck when you can buy something ultra-cool and rugged?

Future Is Bright

So while the new Bronco will undoubtedly make a big splash when it arrives in a couple of weeks, we expect the Bronco pickup to make equally large waves later on down the road. The future is indeed very bright for Blue Oval fans, no matter how you slice it.
