The newest Ford electric SUV is taking on Tesla in a battle for EV supremacy.

Given Tesla's powerful name in the world of electric vehicles, it's inevitable that every new electric model will be compared to Elon Musk's products. And that comparison is most appropriate in the case of the Mustang Mach E. A countless number of publications have put the Ford crossover up against Tesla products, and the Mach E continues to impress.
Performance
While the performance versions of Tesla vehicles such as the Model 3 and Model Y are touted for their amazing power delivery and overall handling, the Mustang Mach E hasn't had such rave reviews in this category. Most of those who have had the chance to drive the Mach E and either of the aforementioned Tesla models would put the Telsas above the Ford. The narrative will change, however, with the GT version of the Mach E, which is engineered for performance.

User Interface and Tech
When it comes to the user interface and tech, it is apparent that Ford chose to follow the blueprint that has been laid by the industry's EV benchmark, Tesla. And that is evident in the simple, iPad in the center dashboard design. But the Mach E does a great job of personalizing that tech, and perhaps with better integration. With that said, Tesla is the benchmark for a reason, and many reviews favor them over the Ford in this category.

Base Trim Value
But what the Ford lacks in tech, it makes up for handsomely in terms of standard features. The motor company seemingly went overboard equipping the Mach E with creature comforts and safety features.

Comfort and Quality
Tesla products can be described, in comparison to industry standards, as somewhat crude. Whereby Tesla vehicles lead the industry in offering efficient electric drive systems and endless amounts of cool tech features, the build quality is severely lacking. In contrast, the Mach E has apparently been treated to Ford's top-notch manufacturing quality, and it takes the cake in this category by a long shot.

Styling
Although automotive styling is often categorized as subjective, there is no way to ignore the significantly more sophisticated design features of the Mach E over the Tesla. Granted, Tesla sells an image of simplicity, but there is something to be said for a beautifully styled automobile, and few could argue against the work of Ford's design team, especially going head-to-head with a Tesla.

Overall, there are pros and cons for both the Ford EV and Tesla's stability. We will all have formed more concrete opinions once we see more Mach Es roaming the streets. But the way it looks at the moment, many folks seem to prefer Ford over Tesla, including this writer.
