Stunningly Simple Ford F-250 Is One High Rolling Highboy
Daily Slideshow: If it ain't broke...
Cool as is
Modifying trucks is an ancient practice that dates back nearly to when the very first truck was built. And today, the truck parts and accessories aftermarket is a multi-billion dollar industry. But as much as we like to tinker with our rides, you certainly don't have to. Especially not when you've got something as cool as this '76 Ford F-250 up for grabs at 4 Wheel Classics.
Lovingly Cared For
But in reality, is there any factory-built truck cooler than a real-deal Ford Highboy? We'd argue not. This super-clean example lived most of its life in Oregon before it was purchased by this particular dealer and brought to Michigan. And it sure looks like it's been lovingly cared for all these years.

No Hiding
One thing's for sure - when you've got a black truck, it's virtually impossible to hide any imperfections in the body or paint. And this one looks to be in pretty amazing condition. The seller notes that it looks like all the sheet metal here is original, too.

Mostly Original
The same goes for the moldings and trim, all of which look like they're original. Or if not, at least proper reproduction pieces. The bed has been freshly Rhino-lined, and all the weatherstripping has been replaced, however.

Working Good
And as you'd expect by now, everything reportedly works. That includes all the exterior lighting, turn signals, and various other electrical components.

Subtlety Wins
The wheels and tires on this F-250 are obviously not original, but they're certainly nothing that looks out of place. The previous owner chose subtlety over going with an outrageous set of off-road rubber. Which is a good thing from where we're standing.

Rebuilt with Upgrades
Pop the hood, and you'll find a clean engine bay sporting the original 360. The motor was rebuilt about 25,000 miles ago, at which time the previous owner added a Holley 4-barrel carb, aluminum intake manifold, headers, and dual exhaust.

Freshen Up
The interior looks to be in fantastic condition as well. The previous owner added a new rubber floor mat and recovered the bench seat to freshen things up.

Bare Essentials
A set of aftermarket gauges is the only obvious change here, other than the bed liner and rolling stock. The rest of the drivetrain consists of an NP435 4-speed transmission, NP205 transfer case, and 4.11 gears in both differentials. Power steering and power disc brakes are welcome additions, too.

Right Truck to Start With
Overall, we think you'll have a hard time finding a bone to pick with this beautiful Highboy. We certainly did. But perhaps the best thing about this F-250 is that it proves you don't have to go bonkers with mods to have a cool truck. You just have to pick the right truck in the first place!
