Stunning Silver '79 Bronco Packs Some Tasteful Upgrades
Early Ford Broncos are Velocity Restorations' specialty, but they can also build one seriously cool second gen, as we see here.
Back to the Future
Velocity Restorations is well known for its amazing first-gen Ford Bronco restomod builds. In fact, we've featured quite a few of them here at Ford Truck Enthusiasts. But early Broncos aren't the only thing Velocity likes to tinker with. They've transformed all sorts of classic cars, SUVs, and other stuff into modern show-quality gems. And that includes this ultra-cool '79 Bronco we came across that's currently up for sale.

Adding Character
Velocity reports that this particular Bronco was restored around five years ago, but it still looks pretty excellent today. It has a few rock chips on the exterior, but nothing that really shows up in pictures. But to us, that just adds character to a vehicle known for its off-road prowess.

Nice Contrast
Otherwise, this 2nd gen is sitting pretty thanks to a 2.5-inch suspension lift and Toyo A/T Open Country 35 x 12.50R17LT tires wrapped around KMC 17” black wheels. Some folks will undoubtedly hate on the black wheels, but we think they contrast nicely with this Bronco's white exterior hue.

Beefy Combo
Underneath this rugged rig you'll find a beefy drivetrain combo consisting of a Dana 44 front differential and a Ford 9-inch out back. Which is obviously a big help when you're navigating the trails. And according to Velocity, the previous owner of this Bronco did that quite a bit.

Drive and Enjoy
All-in-all, it's a great-looking package despite being used like a Bronco should be. All of the chrome and assorted trim still looks great. And if there are a few imperfections present, it's easier to justify driving and enjoying it instead of being worried about scratching up your previous paint.

Not Perfect
The same goes for the interior, which looks great but has some obvious wear. According to the listing, everything here is original save for more modern radio. And personally, we don't mind a couple of tears in the seats. Again, it just adds character in a cool 'ute like this.

Nearly Perfect
Overall, the insides are in pretty excellent condition otherwise. The wood trim looks great, and there's even one of those old school steering wheel covers in place that you used to see on all '70s era trucks. And if you wanted to, you could certainly fix the seats and have a very nice interior.

Beautiful Bay
Pop the hood on this classic Bronco, and you'll find a 400 cubic-inch V8 that's been dressed up nicely with a chrome Edelbrock open-element air cleaner and valve covers. Most everything has received a fresh coat of paint in here. Overall, it's a pretty darn clean engine bay for an old utility vehicle.

Use Me
2nd gen Broncos are red hot these days, and this one certainly deserves a closer look. But while we've seen lots of super high-quality restorations and big dollar builds, we'd much rather save the cash and get something like this. After all, what good is owning a Bronco is you're afraid to drive it and use it as Ford intended?
