Riot on the Radio

This 1956 Ford F-100 has come a long way —no pun intended. Once a hauler of hay, it would now be considered a shame to park this reimagined beauty anywhere except in the city. In fact, the 1956 Ford F-100 series was designed and engineered to compete with Chevy's "Task Force" pickup trucks which debuted the same year. The result? A pickup that was reimagined for the '56 model year but whose classic American looks still resonate today —notably it's "full wrap" windshield, expanded grill and wider rear window.

Shootout on the Silver Screen

This model underwent a complete frame-off restoration for two years beginning in the year 2010. This meant the inclusion of all new front fenders, rockers, and a refabricating of the truck’s metal doors and cab. Ford manufactured nearly 138,000 F-100 pickups in 1956, the last year of what collectors respectfully refer to as the "fat-fender" style of Ford trucks.

Sticking 'Em Up and Knocking 'Em Down

In 1956 the Ford Motor Company made a 223ci six-cylinder the standard engine in its F-100 series. The Silver Bullet, however, is powered by a 302ci based 347 Stroker Crate engine affixed to a single 4-barrel Holley carb that feeds fuel and air through an Edelbrock intake —significantly more powerful than its predecessor. A 3-speed C4 automatic transmission and a 2800 Stall converter are also featured.

Saddle You Up

A truck bed is just a truck bed, right? That aid, the bed dimensions of the 1956 Ford F-100 actually has a story to tell. That’s because this model year’s cargo bed, measuring 6 1/2 feet by 20 inches, would be the same sized bed used by Ford Motor Company in pickup trucks until the 1980s. This truck’s particular bed has been rebuilt and adorned with oak paneling for supreme styling.

Take 'Em to Town

Vintage pickups are becoming more and more popular in collectors’ circles and this sparkling restoration makes it easy to see why. Originally discovered in New Jersey, the truck now boasts PPG 06 Ford Silver Birch Metallic paint. It sits atop a TCI Mustang II front suspension, and Leaf Spring rear suspension with power disc brakes on each wheel. Furthermore, it's rust-free inside and out. No matter where you're head, this silver devil is ready to turn heads as both a vintage show stopper or a daily driver for years to come.
