Daily Slideshow: Romancing the Ford: Stories of Love
What is it that brings people to fall in love with Ford? No matter how many "dates" we've been on with other makes, we all came to the same place for a reason.
Loving Ford is a never-ending courtship
Why is it that we love Ford so much? The story for every owner is as unique as they are, but it's not hard to see common ground develop if you ask around enough. No matter how many "dates" we've been on with other auto makes, we all arrived at Ford. If you're an F-Series owner yourself, the reasons behind this Ford fandom probably shouldn't surprise you. But there's still a cozy feeling in reflecting on why we elected to throw our lot in with these trucks in the first place.
Ford trucks have been a long-time staple of American culture. Having been around for long enough to be considered an institution in its own right, the F-150 has ranked up as the nation's best-selling vehicle each year for ages. When there are enthusiastic people across all ages and walks of life telling you that the F-Series is the way to go, it's even easy for skeptics to lend an open ear.

"Built Ford Tough" Part 1
Car culture tends to place an undue amount of focus on sports cars and glitzy show cars. The latest scoop on the Dodge Demon or special edition Mustang is fun to hear about to be sure, but it doesn't reflect what people are looking for in real life. Ford earned a new customer with Steve when they leased him this 2014 F-150 XLT XTR. He was looking for a truck that could balance the necessities of work and his family life.
Family plays a major role in any Ford courtship, and Steve wasn't the only one with good things to say about his truck. His three children waxed ecstatic about the truck. When asked why, one of the kids reflected that the F-150 sounded "like a race car"-- given the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost the F-150 is strapped with, it's easy to understand why.
Fuel economy and towing power are all useful feats of the F-150, but the tough frame and the ride height offer the sort of comforting safety that anyone would ideally want for their family. We think Steve made the right choice.

"Built Ford Tough" Part 2
As it turns out, Steve decided he had made the right decision with Ford too. When his lease on the 2014 F-150 ran out, he opted to buy a 2017 F-150 from the same dealership. He was instantly taken to the fact that the features were all similar to his previous model. Whatever slight improvements that Ford makes to their trucks each year is never enough to rile up the fundamental feeling of driving one. It's because of this that Ford truck owners are so likely to become loyal customers for life. After all, why risk on something else you won't be sure you love?
Ford's service as a business also plays into the experience of being a Ford customer. Steve was sure to mention the amiable time he had with the dealership who sold him the truck. Just about everyone has at least one bad experience with customer service at some point in their lives. No company as big as Ford can ever be perfect, but they do the best they can to ensure warm and helpful service to their customers whichever way possible.

The Great Value of Ford
Some people look at buying a Ford with a more cold and calculated design. The owner here is an example of one of those customers who nurtured their Ford-love for life. the 2014 F-150 he's pictured with is reportedly the 15th Ford product he's bought in his life. He cites the vehicle's efficiency, ease of use, and "great value" as reasons why he's stuck it out with Ford for so long.

Simplicity In Comfort and Efficiency
On the other hand, if you're looking for a brand-new customer outlook on Ford, just take it from Fraser. Of course, he'll probably tell you more of the same. The 2011 F-150 he owns is his first-ever Ford vehicle, and he had nothing but good things to say about it. He fondly points out having the spacious truck comfort along with the ease to drive and maintain.
Both of Fraser's parents were long-time fans of Ford before he joined in. Perhaps this exposure made it easier for him to fall for Ford in the first place. Either way, he has no regrets.

Ford Trucks Are Capable of Anything
Ford has had lasting success with their F-Series. This tradition bodes well for the people they're trying to sell to. Leave the "cutting edge" to the sports car lovers; an F-150 can be plenty cool in its own way. Most owners are interested in the way their truck can perform out there in the real world.
Once someone has "romanced the Ford" as it were, there's seldom a reason to turn back. F-Series trucks are designed to be capable of just about anything and do it well. A Ford truck is competent, dependable and open to all possibilities. It was never a question of falling in love; it was why one would ever choose anything else.
