Roll Tide: 1974 Ford F-100 is Classic Alabama
A standard model back in its original release year, decades of care and careful restoration have left this truck in like-new condition.
My New Obsession
With its high gloss cherry red finish and shimmering chrome accents, it's hard to believe this Ford F-100 Custom was an entry-level machine back in 1974. By that year, Ford engineers had begun to abandon the concept of extremely large engines for consumer sales and developing concerns about the availability of oil and the danger of emissions. But, as you can tell, it wasn't at a sacrifice of style.

Love You Discover
While the Ranger (at the time still just a trim level) and Ranger XLT both boasted more power and upgraded features, you'd be hard-pressed to find a trim better than this. In fact, this rig only has only about 11,000 original miles. An amount of mileage that's wowed showgoers and collectors alike.

Color of Passion
The truck's almost entirely original interior remains in vibrant condition with the original vinyl upholstered bench seat still intact. Looking for more audio options than the original '74 Ford transistor? Fret not. The newly installed Retrosound audio unit comes complete with Bluetooth and new speakers that will more than suffice.

Go With Fashion
The truck's 240ci inline-six engine was utilized in small trucks and full-sized cars from 1965 to 1972. That engine was based on the same principles of Ford's first-generation straight-six engine which debuted all the way back in 1941. In addition to revamped power steering, the truck also features a brand new clutch, new power disk (front) brakes and upgraded steering and suspension components.

Everything is Going to be All Right
For the 1974 model year, Ford's F-100 pickups featured a variety of new design elements. Among them color-keyed insulated floor mats, an expanded windshield, moldings on the truck's rear window, bright drip side rails as well as bright hub caps, which on this restored model roll with brand new thin whitewall tires.

It's Not Even a Question
What's one fantastic feature this truck has that wasn’t available in 1974? A newly sprayed Line-X bed liner, tough enough to haul your friends, dogs, bikes or garden projects without jeopardizing the continued health of the truck’s original bed. Forged at a time when pickup trucks had become well established in the American lifestyle, but young enough to be implemented with new engineering technology focused on efficiency. This 1974 Ford F-100 is the ideal cruiser —particularly for tailgating at your favorite school’s ballgames.
