Color of Money

Green, as they say, is the color of money. And when that hue adorns the flanks of a fine Ford truck like this '72 F-250, it becomes even more valuable, in our opinion. We spotted this gorgeous pickup over at Mecum Auctions, where it looks good as new following a good bit of work designed to make it even more desirable than it already was to begin with.

Stay Original

After living much of its life in sunny, dry Arizona, this old Ford was treated to a full restoration back in 2016. Now, a few years later, it looks no worse for wear. During that process, the body was stripped down to the metal and repainted its original two-tone green, which looks absolutely fantastic.

Visual Winner

Several exterior components were replaced during that process as well. They include both bumpers, the front grille, and all the original trim. And since this is an XLT Camper Special, there's quite a bit of extra jewelry on the exterior. Throw on a set of white steel wheels, and you've got a real winner, visually speaking.

Fresh Threads

The green theme continues inside, where you'll find a flawless cab that looks like brand new. It features a reupholstered bench seat, but the original dash, floor mat, and instruments were in good enough shape to retain as-is. The original wood trim provides a touch of luxury, too.

New or Rebuilt

A 390 cubic-inch V8 powers this F-250, and it too was treated to a complete rebuild when the truck was restored. As was the original transmission. The carburetor, plugs, wires, exhaust, and radiator are all brand new. According to the seller, the truck has been driven very little since all this work was completed, too.

Extensive Process

And the redo doesn't stop there. The frame was stripped, cleaned and painted. All the axles were cleaned up and fitted with new bearings. And of course, all four brakes were gone through and fitted with new lines, calipers, cylinders, pads, and shoes.

Drool Worthy

The result of all that labor is a classic Ford F-250 that anyone would be proud to own. Mechanically and cosmetically perfect, this pickup is bound to make a fantastic cruiser for the lucky new owner. And even if that isn't us, at least we can sit here and drool over it.
