Saving History

There was once a time when trucks were disposable, designed to tackle tough tasks and then be put out to pasture when they'd exceeded their usable lives. Thankfully, however, there are folks out there that work hard to save classics like this masterfully restored 1979 Ford F-250 we spotted in the Hemmings classifieds

Lasting a Lifetime

We aren't just talking about some half-done restoration here, either. The cab and bed were removed from the frame, and everything was coated in rust preventative paint to ensure that the hard work lasts a lifetime.

Solid Start

Luckily, this particular F-250 lived most of its life stored inside a barn. As a result, it was relatively rust-free to being with. That obviously made the job much easier, and it's a boon to potential buyers as they'll know that the sheet metal here is all original.

Impressive Interior

The inside of this classic Ford is in equally amazing shape. There are undoubtedly a host of new parts in here, but that doesn't make the work any less impressive.

Rodent Proof?

Even more interesting is the fact that the seller claims that the cab has been made "totally rodent-proof." If so, you won't have to worry about any unwelcome guests chewing up your wiring or shiny new interior parts.

Refreshed Engine

Like the rest of the truck, the 460 V8 has been completely refurbished and rebuilt. The distributor, water pump, radiator, and power steering pump/gear are all brand new and nothing reportedly leaks.

Stout Drivetrain

Backing up the big mill is a C6 automatic transmission, which sends power back to a Dana 60 rear axle. It may not be four-wheel drive, but we won't hold that against this classic Ford.

Effective Stopping Power

As you might've guessed by now, the entire brake system has been gone through as well. Everything from the lines to the two-piston calipers are brand new, and that's never a bad thing.

Set It Off

While the seller was at it, they also replaced all the glass and added a set of very attractive aftermarket wheels and tires that really set off this gorgeous red ride.

Great Value?

These days, it's getting harder and harder to find a classic Ford truck as nice as this one. And even though it sports a somewhat hefty price tag of $28,500, we're betting that it cost way more than that to restore this F-250 to perfection!
