PaxPower Creating 758 HP V8 2021 Bronco
PaxPower steps in to offer the V8-powered 2021 Ford Bronco we all really want.
Dream to Reality
The reborn 2021 Bronco is already a massive hit, even though it won't begin reaching the garages of buyers until the Spring of 2021. There are few bones to pick with the sixth-gen Bronco, but there are many people that wish the new SUV was available with V8 power. Luckily, aftermarket builder PaxPower is here to make that dream a reality.

Making a Name
PaxPower has made a name for itself by building and selling the vehicles that Ford won't - namely, V8-powered F-150 Raptors and Ranger Raptor clones for U.S. consumption. The V8 Bronco is its next big gap-filler, and it will be available in two different versions, both centered around the third-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V8 from the current Ford F-150.

Two Flavors
The base version will be naturally-aspirated and produce around 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. But the second option is totally bonkers, adding a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger to the mix for a healthy 758 horsepower. Both engines will be mated to Ford's 10-speed automatic transmission, though PaxPower says a manual option may also be available.

Complicated Process
There's just one tiny problem with swapping a V8 into the new Bronco, of course - it's a difficult and complicated process. PaxPower admits that the job requires swapping out everything from the 5.0 donor truck, including the auxiliary engine systems, modules, exhaust, and wiring.

Expensive Job
As one might imagine, that also means this conversion won't be cheap. PaxPower says that the base N/A V8 Bronco swap will run around $30,000, and the supercharged version will cost about $45,000. And that's obviously not including the cost of the Bronco to start with.

Lining Up
Regardless, for those that have to have a V8-powered Bronco, PaxPower is currently the only aftermarket company offering it. Of course, that's subject to change, and we imagine that more will be lining up to give the new Bronco proper V8 power as it gets closer to production.

Coming Soon
For those who are willing to pay the price, PaxPower says that it will begin this process shortly after Bronco deliveries begin, which is currently slated to happen next April. And if you catch one out on the road, it's certain to be music to your ears.
