Insane 2004 F-650 6x6 Pushes the Proverbial Envelope
Daily Slideshow: Like a value meal at a fast food restaurant, the owner of this Ford F-650 super-sized his order.
Supersize Me
Here in America, we're seldom satisfied with anything. That includes massive trucks that are, well, already massive. No matter how big something like a stock Ford F-650 might be, we want more. And that's what's led to the super truck movement and rigs like this amazing 2004 F-650 we spotted over at Mecum Auctions.

Six of Everything
The conversion started with a body stretch big enough to add a pair of doors. And that, of course, meant that this F-650 could now also accommodate an extra axle, effectively making it a 6x6.

Show and Go
Those characteristics alone would make this giant Ford stand out. But unlike some of the other 6x6 conversions we've seen, this one also has a serious off-road suspension setup to make it go as good as it shows.

Serious Equipment
The suspension underneath this giant rig is fully custom with a tig-welded 4-link setup. It also sports custom King shocks and an air bag system, as well as a substantial 18-inches of wheel travel.

Diesel Power
Power for this go-anywhere monstrosity comes from a Caterpillar C7 engine producing 500 hp and an unspecified torque figure. Though we're guessing it's pretty darn high. That diesel motor is backed up by a tough-as-nails Allison 6-speed automatic transmission.

Fully Capable
There are quite a few super truck builders out there in the world today, and some seriously impressive rigs to boot. But few of them can actually go off-road and conquer serious obstacles like this one looks fully capable of doing!
