Insane Ford F-450 Was Built for Both Work and Play
This giant Ford might look like some kind of showmobile, but it isn't afraid to get down and dirty, too.
1. Dual Purpose Dually
Most Ford guys cringe when they see lifted Super Duty trucks on blinged out wheels and huge suspension lifts. They like to call them "mall crawlers" and other unmentionable derogatory terms. And while this latest build from Scofield Performance might look just like it rolled off the SEMA show floor, it wasn't built just to look pretty. In fact, it was built to serve as the promotional vehicle for Scofield, which meant it needs to be able to haul everything from Mustangs to other Super Dutys.

2. Modest Beginnings
When the owner of the business, Jeff Scofield, spotted this White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat F-450 sitting on a local dealer lot, he knew he had to have it. So he scooped it up, took it back to the shop, and got to work. For starters, Scofield chose to stick with nothing more than a GDP Tuning Engine Management system for the already powerful 6.7 liter Powerstroke. Because when you're packing 900+ lb-ft of torque, do you really need more in a truck destined to rack up plenty of miles?

3. Superb Suspension
The suspension, on the other hand, received a host of upgrades worthy of show truck status. Scofield settled on a Kelderman 6-inch lift kit with industrial strength bags, upper and lower mounting brackets, air lines and fittings, pitman arm, radius arm drop brackets, dual steering stabilizer bracket, and a track bar drop bracket. The whole thing is controlled by an AccuAir e-Level Air Management Package complete with controller, Viair 480C Compressors, VU4 4-Corner Valve Unit, and dual 5-gallon aluminum air tanks.

4. Steamrolling
All of that kit serves one purpose, really. It makes clearance for some seriously huge rolling stock. The distinctive red wheels are American Force Bruiser SD Series that span 22-inches in diameter and 8.25-inches wide. With Toyo Open Country M/Ts measuring in at 37X13.50R22 wrapped around them, the whole combination makes quite the visual impact on the big ol' dually.

5. She's a Looker
Of course, the massive rollers aren't the only story here. Exterior mods include Kelderman Alpha Series bumpers, an Overkill Fabrications grille, Rigid lighting, Bullseye Retro headlights, a Warn Zeon 12 Platinum winch, and Royal Hooks tow hook. Anderson Performance Coatings (APC) chipped in the powder-coated surfaces, which nicely complement the factory paint. But none of that has stopped Scofield from driving his newly christened beast. In fact, he's already racked up 5,000 miles on it, with plenty more planned for the future.
