Get there early!

Tailgating starts early. You’ll want to setup early so you can spend most of the day having a good time. Getting early will also allow you time to put yourself in the right camp. The last thing you want to do is show up late when everyone has claimed their space and end up in enemy territory!

Stock up on everything!

From beer to burgers you’ll want to have your bases covered. Running out of a cold one is a cardinal sin that is punishable by having to root for the Browns. Don’t forget the little things like having a good variety of barbecue and hot sauces! While you’re at it, buy a bottle opener key chain. You will thank me later!

Get the right ride

You don’t have to spend a fortune on a tricked out truck to have a great time. If you take tailgating seriously, be creative! Buses can be found for cheap on Craigslist and make for awesome all rounders. What would be more fun than piling all your friends in a vehicle with some loud music and custom interior!

Wrap your car / truck / bus

Custom wraps are pretty common in the auto industry now and aren’t that difficult to take on as a DIY project. Find a company that sells the material cheap and wrap your car in your favorite teams colors. Throw some decals on and your allegiance will be clear for the losing team to see!

Ez up and Water

As simple as this sounds we all forget to do it. Heat exhaustion can be lethal so keeping yourself hydrated is paramount. You want to have a good time, not end up in the hospital. Alcohol and football go hand in hand so make sure you are replenishing what your body loses.

Designate a driver

It goes without saying: if you’re going to take your game to the next level be smart and don’t get behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking. Designate a driver before hand and trade off each game. You’ll be glad you did and get to laugh at your friend’s antics in the process.
