1. You can feel confident

What is the secret behind the success of Ford's trucks?

It's the year's best-seller, and last year's too. It's been around for decades and managed to escape the usual nostalgia trap. More amazing still, it's stolen the hearts of customers across all income brackets. That's just the F-150 we're talking about too! What is it that has made Ford's trucks the most enduring success in auto history?

It's simple, really. If you want to sell a vehicle to as many people as possible, market a vehicle that is versatile enough to do just about anything. Next, make sure the vehicle excels at any task a driver might use it for. If you can promise all of that, and make it driver-friendly to boot, then you might have a hit like the F-150 on your hands.

2.Its mechanical might is empowering

Some F-Series trucks are built like rolling fortresses, while others are kept lean for everyday use. However, regardless whether you're talking about a stock F-150 or the absurdly overpowered Ford Velociraptor, you get behind the wheel knowing you're taking control of a genuine article. An F-150's robust combination of accessibility and brawn can feel empowering, especially when you catch a glimpse of what you're towing through the rearview.

They were "Built Ford Tough" under the assumption you'd be putting that to the test, you know.

3. Safety in size

There's a lot of benefits to driving high above the ground in a Ford truck. Among them, in the event of an accident, you are considerably more protected than your lesser, car-driving peers. A sense of security is a wonderful way to minimize stress.

4. Great visibility while driving

F-Series owners swear by how much easier it is to drive when you're able to see things from a bird's eye view. Any extra power given to the operator of the vehicle is a plus in our books.

5. A great work buddy

Driving around in a Ford truck feels useful. There's a much stronger bond felt with a vehicle if it helps you earn your family's bread. Even if you don't use your truck as a direct part of your job, you own a Ford knowing that it could come in handy for any number of tasks. If a friend you know is moving, for instance, they're probably going to be sucking up around the time they're clearing their furniture.

People give sports cars flak for their impracticality in regular daily use. Even if you live in the city though, it doesn't take long to find an opportunity to put your truck to good use.

6. You can take time off with one, too

If you can work with a Ford truck, it stands to reason you should be able to relax with one, too. The versatility and utility of a Ford truck applies to having fun as well. Camping's an obvious choice for outdoorsy types. Many owners also swear by their trucks as world-class offroaders. If you've got some wild fun memories behind the wheel to balance out the hard work and toil, you're naturally going to feel better when you're driving.

7. It's an all-American gem

When a legacy's been going on for as long as the F-Series, it's inevitably going to pick up cultural associations along the way. F-Series trucks don't ride on nostalgia in the same way that Chevrolet's Corvette or Ford's own Mustang do. Even so, it's impossible to wash away the association between these trucks and the rustic ideal of the American heartland. A Ford truck may act as just as much of a status symbol for hands-on workers as a sports car might be for a businessman. There's a down-to-earth sense of honesty to the F-Series trucks, and the feeling grows the more vintage you go. Even nowadays, however, you always know a Ford can be used to get the job done. The F-Series represents a pure ideal of hard work and earnest living. No wonder so many people are drawn to them.
