Heavily Patina'd 1956 Ford F-100 is One Cool Utility Hauler
Looking like it just emerged from a field, this heavily weathered Ford F-100 packs plenty of cool factor.

Perfect Patina
There was a time, not too long ago, when anything less than a perfect paint job would get you laughed out of any car show. But oh, how times have changed. Now people actually paint vehicles to look like they have weathered finishes. But this '56 Ford F-100 we spotted over at Mecum Auctions wears its natural look with pride - no fake treatment needed.

Open to Interpretation
Despite this, the auction listing states that the truck has undergone an "extensive restoration." Obviously, those words are heavily up for interpretation. But we personally love the way this F-100 looks, and we especially dig that cool utility box sitting out back in lieu of a traditional bed.

New Where It Counts
At the very least, this truck sports new things where it counts. That includes the interior, where a freshly restitched bench seat and door panels await. We presume the rest of the interior has been gone through as well, but the seller didn't provide any additional pictures or details.

Maintaining the Theme
Under the hood, you'll find what appears to be a mildly reworked 272 cubic-inch V8. The engine has been rebuilt, and we can spot some obvious additions including headers and some chrome dress-up bits. But there's also plenty of patina going on here in the engine bay, which carries on the theme of the exterior nicely.

Good to Go
A rebuilt automatic transmission backs up that motor, so this F-100 should be good to go for many more miles. In addition, it's also received new glass, fresh tires and rubber seals, and a new radiator. And it most certainly looks the part with a nice stance that's not too low and certainly not too high.

Work or Play
For the right person, this F-100 would make a great cruiser or even a part-time work truck. There's plenty of utility present in that bed/box, which would make this pickup great for hauling your hot rod to car shows. Or hauling around your tools, even.

Unique Ride
We're certainly digging this unique old Ford, which has the kind of look that only Mother Nature can provide. And unlike all of those other cookie-cutter painted trucks, you're pretty much guaranteed that there isn't another one exactly like it anywhere in the world!
