Lasting Appeal

It pains us to say this, but it's a fact that out of the many Ford trucks built over the years, some are used up and left to rot. Others, especially in terms of early models, are chopped up and transformed into street machines. But thankfully, neither of those fates befell this beautiful '53 Ford F-100 we found over at Mecum Auctions.

Stylish Hauler

And that's exactly the way we like it because these early F-Series trucks were among the first to move away from being simple workhorses, incorporating some style into the fold for good measure.

Timeless Machine

That curvy styling looks as good today as it did way back then, too. And leaving this F-100 largely stock is a smart move considering how timeless and ageless these iconic trucks are.

Simple Beauty

A full frame-off restoration merely accentuates those attractive features in this case, capping it all off with a beautiful shade of Glacier Blue. The same goes for the interior, which is equally simple yet attractive and useful.

Driver-Centric

Ford revamped their truck interiors for the 1953 model year, but they certainly weren't as radically different as the exterior. But they were designed to be more driver-centric than before.

Dapper Engine Bay

Power for this particular F-100 comes from the reliable 239 cubic-inch Flathead V8 engine, a design that proved successful for many years. And in this case, it's looking rather dapper in a fully refurbished engine bay.

Anniversary Celebration

1953 also marked the 50th year of Ford trucks, so this one proudly wears an anniversary badge in the center of the steering wheel.

Classic Combo

With the exception of the additional wooden bed sides, this F-100 is largely stock in every way. It rides on painted steel wheels with chrome hub caps and wide whitewall tires, a classic combo indeed.

Show and Go

Of course, all of this truck's brightwork is brand new, giving it a polished look befitting of a museum piece. But that doesn't mean this vintage F-100 wouldn't be the perfect weekend cruiser, either.

Pure Perfection

We've got nothing against hot rods, rat rods, or any other kind of modified old Ford truck. But it's hard to mess with what was essentially perfection from the factory, as this gorgeous '53 proves yet again.
