Free Wheeling Classic

When it comes to '70s classics, it's hard to beat a full-size, second-gen Ford Bronco. This two-year-only body style is still beloved by folks everywhere, for obvious reasons. But if you're looking for a nice, rare model, it's hard to beat this gorgeous 1979 Free Wheeling edition that recently crossed the auction block at GAA Classic Cars

Pure '70s

Of course, the Free Wheeling package was essentially nothing more than a trim upgrade. The most obvious upgrade are those bright, multi-colored decals affixed to the exterior, which is something that you would only see in the '70s. But we certainly love these things regardless.

Shining Bright

As far as Free Wheeling Broncos go, well, you certainly won't find many nicer examples than this. The exterior looks to be in excellent shape, from the paint and decals to the chrome. Typically, the decals on these trucks faded quickly over time.

Welcome Upgrades

This particular Free Wheeling Bronco isn't completely stock, however. A previous owner added a 4-inch Rough Country lift, along with 15x10" aluminum wheels wrapped in 35x12.5" BFGoodrich tires. But we're certainly not complaining, because this Bronco looks fantastic with those upgrades.

Pampered Life

So it makes you wonder, how has this particular Bronco survived for so long intact and in such nice shape? Well, that's likely due to usage. This Bronco has just 56k documented miles on the odometer, so it likely lived much of its life in a garage or other covered structure.

Stellar Threads

Moving to the interior, you'll notice that the seats, dash, and every other covered surface are in fantastic shape as well. It barely looks like anyone's ever even sat in here. And this is, in fact, the original interior, according to the seller.

Nicely Optioned

There are a handful of nice options here as well. Things like power steering and air conditioning, which weren't always standard back in this Bronco's day. And you won't have to row your own gears either, because it's also equipped with an automatic transmission.

Unconditional Love

Other factory options include a roll bar and power disc brakes, so this classic Bronco probably drives quite nicely. Especially when it's been used as little as it has over the years, not to mention unconditionally loved.

Lofty Price Tag

With a 400 cubic-inch V8 under the hood, it likely scoots around town pretty good, too. But it's also clear that the new owner had to pay dearly for the privilege of buying this rig. Because this beautiful Bronco hammered for a substantial $56,000. But then again, where else are you going to find a Free Wheeling '79 this nice?
