Ford Trucks are Every Singer's Favorite Subject of Choice
We always knew that trucks and music shared a deep bond, but here's numerical proof.
Love Connection
Not a day goes by when we don't hear some crooner talking about their pickup on the radio, and as most of us know, that's been the case for quite a few years. Trucks have always been a popular subject in music, which makes perfect sense given the strong connection we have with our them. But now, money.co.uk, a British financial site that's best known for comparing financial service prices, has put out a very interesting analysis showing just how connected music and trucks really are.

Talking Percentages
The analysis took a look at 16,000 songs conceived from the 1950s to today and found that a whopping 4.16% of them mention trucks. It also breaks down these numbers by artist and found that no one mentioned trucks in their songs more than country singer Justin Moore, at a rate of 29.6%.

Ford v Chevy
Of course, no study about trucks would be complete without pitting competing brands against each other, and this one took a look at the iconic Ford v Chevy rivalry as well. Interestingly enough, Ford and its iconic F-150 dominated music references from the 1950s to the 2000s, but over the last two decades, more songs mention Bow Ties than anything else.

Rhymes With?
So what's causing this titanic shift in brand preference, at least in the music world? We imagine it has something to do with using words that rhyme, rather than giving the nod to a particular make or model.

Trending Upward
As far as overall mentions, pickup truck references have increased in music by 6.25% since the year 2000, versus just 1% from 1950-1999. So far, 2019 has been the biggest year for truck references, which dipped slightly last year for whatever reason.
