Vintage Experience

These days, "glamping" is all the rage. Which, if you aren't in the know, is essentially just glamorous, upscale, luxury camping. Not the kind you did as a kid, which probably took place in some crappy tent retrieved from the back of dad's station wagon. But while glamping sounds cool and all, we're more interested in the vintage experience offered up by this intriguing Ford F-100/old school camper duo up for grabs at Classic Auto Mall

Pride of the Campground

Unsurprisingly, somebody took the idea of retro glamping to the literal next level here. This particular 1966 Ford F-100 was completely rebuilt alongside a replica 1969 Alpine Sprite Camper. Thus, the result is a perfectly matching pair sure to draw the admiration of every other temporary campsite neighbor you come across.

Reliable Power

The F-100 itself is a bit of a restomod. Under the hood, you'll find a rebuilt, fuel-injected 302 V8 dressed up with aluminum finned valve covers and air cleaner. It's been treated to all kinds of modern stuff to keep it reliable, including an Edelbrock E Street Series fuel injection system, MSD ignition, and Champion radiator.

Smooth and Steady

An automatic overdrive transmission keeps things nice and smooth on the highway, and four-wheel disc brakes are more than capable of handling those steep mountain declines. This F-100 rides smooth too, thanks to an independent front suspension and 4-link rear setup.

Riding Low (or High)

Of course, you aren't towing much or going anywhere with this F-100 sitting that low. Thus, it also sports an E-Level Accuair air suspension that can be raised and lowered via your smartphone.

Pleasing in Many Ways

The insides of this F-100 are also made for comfy long journeys with plush, custom-stitched seats. Everywhere you look, you'll find nothing but cool custom touches that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the hand and backside.

Perfect Match

Custom fabricated parts include the steering wheel, door panels, and headliner. The unique combination of the rust color with white and tan hides is very unique and matches the interesting exterior color perfectly.

Complementary Bits

The theme even continues under the hood, where you'll find smoothed and white-painted fender wells and firewall. Those Vanilla Pearl accents perfectly complement the rest of the truck, which is painted in a base-coat green/gold metallic paint with a satin clearcoat.

Hand Built

As awesome as the Ford F-100 half of this glamping duo is, the camper might be even more impressive. Mostly because the entire thing was built from scratch, using the original camper's specs from 1969! The builder started by fabricating a 2” x 4” powder coated steel chassis, to which they attached walls constructed from 2 x 2 aluminum studs and .083 aluminum sheeting.

Comfy Duo

There are loads of creature comforts to be found as well. They include a generator, air conditioning, microwave, hot roller, and fridge. This is obviously a show-worthy duo, but also one that's perfectly capable of giving you multiple comfy nights out in the woods. And that's what glamping should be all about!
