Helping the Animals

It is the time of year for giving, though we typically think of giving gifts to each other or the less fortunate. But we often forget that there are animals out there as well that are in need, many of them living (hopefully) temporarily at various shelters across the country. The folks at Brad Howell Ford certainly didn't forget, and recently completed their latest food drive for the Kokomo Humane Society.

Fill the Truck

The dealer's "Fill the Truck" campaign ran for a full month, with the goal of collecting 7,000 pounds of food for dogs, cats, and even rabbits. Needless to say, the community gave back in a big way and helped Brad Howell exceed that goal by donating almost 8,000 pounds of food for those needy animals.

Helping Others

In addition to the animals at the Kokomo Humane Society, the food will also help feed other hungry animals around Kokomo, Indiana as well. "It's wonderful for us, and it's wonderful for the community. The canned food we use for the animals here, but the dry food we give out in our food bank. We've been going through a lot of that food with COVID, so this is really a great thing to help the community," Karen Wolfe, executive director of the Kokomo Humane Society, told the Kokomo Perspective.

Most Ever

In addition to the 7,912 pounds of food collected, the campaign also raised $1,150 in monetary donations to help the Kokomo Humane Society. The former number is reportedly the largest the shelter has ever received at one time, which is impressive and notable, indeed.

Coming Together

"It was a success, very, very proud of the whole community that came together for that and our staff here. It's truly amazing, especially close to Christmastime when a lot of animals don't have homes and don't have people to be around," Blake Howell of Brad Howell Ford said. "Maybe a toy and some food and some treats will help them get through the holidays."

Giving Back

Clearly, the folks at Brad Howell Ford have big hearts, and we certainly feel like their tremendous effort deserves praise. After all, not every car dealership in the world gives back to its local community, but it's clear that this one most certainly cares about theirs.
