F1 driver Jenson Button's vintage Ford Bronco
As a Formula 1 driver, he became used to the incredible speeds of a purpose-built race car. Now in retirement, Jenson Button has been able to enjoy a much more pleasurable drive in this 302 powered 1970 Ford Bronco.
Jenson Button's Bronco is Quite A Bit Different From His Former Ride
Those of us who are F1 fans know Jenson Button from his highly successful Braun GP days. But off the circuit, he's a car collector and enthusiast of all things with a motor. Proof? His Ford Bronco! It makes sense that the appeal of the Bronco would reach the Brit, as the Bronco is unapologetically cool in its appeal. We found it on ClassicCars, and now the 302 powered 4x4 is being enjoyed by a new owner.
Meant To Be Enjoyed
Jenson's time with this Bronco is finally over, with a new owner having bought it in January of 2022. The sale price? $166,000. We'd have to imagine it won't be seeing much off-roading. But it's a perfect 4x4 to take out for a cruise, and enjoy the open-air sensation that the bimini canvas top offers.
Tasteful Upgrades Found Throughout
Restoration details on this car are intensive. Some areas, like bodywork, brought the car back to its original lines. But other upgrades like the interior bought a bit of comfort and convenience. Billet aluminum pieces are now found throughout, along with a cage and side window deletes.
Modern Solutions for Classic Gauges
Dakota Digital gauges are one of a few modern touches on this Bronco. A Kenwood stereo gives this Ford a good soundtrack, and Borgeson power steering makes driving a breeze. In all, the interior still has all the classic touches, without all the negatives of a classic vehicle.
A 302 V8 Powers All Four Wheels
Fitech fuel injection adds an additional soundtrack to this Bronco, which is powered by a tried and true 302. A three-speed auto sends power to 35-inch chunky off-road tires. Bilstein shocks are part of a raised suspension, and Wilwood calipers help reign in this Bronco.
A Unique And Cool Bronco Unlike Any Other
Overall, this offroader is described in good condition with a few paint imperfections here and there. This means the next owner shouldn't be bashful about taking it out on the road. And while it's a fairly tame Bronco build, this one has something that many others can't boast - a famous owner. So its value will surely stay elevated.
