Double-Headed Ranger Is Sure to Be an Attention Grabber

Instead of sending two Rangers to the scrapyard, one man joined them together to create a truly head-turning machine.

Mad Scientist

Sometimes, you come across a vehicle that just leaves you scratching your head in disbelief. The Ford Ranger, er, Rangers, you see before you is/are such a vehicle and one that's certain to turn every head that comes into contact with it. This mad scientist creation, dubbed "Double Trouble" is the work of a guy named Gage Van, and he made it happen on a shoestring budget of just $500.

Quick Build

The incredibly low sum of money it took to put Double Trouble together is only matched by the fact that Van built the thing in a matter of just three days, as he explained to The Drive. The red Ranger you see in the, um, front is the one that powers the whole thing with its original 4.0-liter V6.

Double the Cabs

As one might imagine, Van created Double Trouble by tearing the two pickups apart and extending the frame he used by 30 inches. Originally, he wanted to create a dual-engine machine, but Van wound up scrapping that plan due to time and budget constraints. Regardless, it's still a four-wheel-drive pickup, or at least we'll refer to the bedless wonder that way.

No Laying Low

Obviously, this build won't make any sense to a lot of people, but that isn't the point. Van wanted to do something different, something that would turn a lot of heads. And on that accord, he certainly accomplished his goal, as we can't imagine he can drive this thing anywhere incognito.

Road Tripper

The double-headed Ranger reportedly runs great and gets around 21 mpg on the highway. Van even used it to complete the 500-mile Detroit Gambler's event back in May, which means that it's obviously road-worthy. How he didn't get pulled over by a curious police officer on that run, well, we're not really sure.

Internet Famous

Van is certainly pleased with the results of his hard work, and we can't imagine sinking any more money into something that he'd probably have a hard time selling to anyone else. And even though Van is currently knee-deep in a number of other projects, we can't imagine them snagging as much attention as this internet-famous ride has already.
