My Blue Heaven

With a rebirth of the Ford Bronco set for 2020, collectors, off-road hobbyists, and restoration fans alike are clamoring for original rebuilds. Few shops have embraced the retro Ford Bronco craze with the artistry and precision of Velocity Restorations of Pensacola, Florida. As such drivers of all stripes will take one look at this sparkling, Brittany-blue 1968 Ford Bronco and exclaim: 'Where are the keys?'

Highway to the Hills

The Brittany blue exterior of this 1968 Ford Bronco is as classically subdued as it is eye-catching. The customized PPG Paint is a turquoise, medium greenish-blue which has been a favorite in the automotive world for decades. Savvy collectors may even recall the car that made it famous: the 1967 Shelby Mustang. Unlike that highway warrior, however, this Ford Bronco has been restored with the confidence to take the highway to the hills.

Rough & Tumble

Velocity has restored this baby blue roadster with all the accouterment modern drivers crave: high-lumen LED headlights, BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, a set of polished wheels from Mickey Thompson and completely reapplied glass and weather trails to keep the mud off the new custom-fit seats.

Classic Style, Modern Function

Inside, Velocity’s team of restoration pros have installed customized high back front seats. The rear seats fold when extra storage space is needed. In addition to the newly implemented door panels, the crew also added a Kicker stereo system with digital compatibility, powered by a Pioneer digital head unit. Looking for a blast of cold air while you're powering through your favorite desert trail? The Bronco’s old fan unit has been replaced with an all-new A/C system to cool your crew.

New Adventures in Hi-Fi

While Velocity has received accolades for the attention they pay to their restomod’s exteriors, they’re no slouch under the hood either. This 1968 Ford Bronco has had its original Ford Coyote 5.0 Engine fully restored and paired to its 5-speed transmission. New elements include custom headers, a smooth new serpentine system, and a custom performance exhaust that adds a little more bark to the original Bronco’s bite.

Days of Future Passed

The powertrain sips from a newly added stainless-steel fuel tank, while stopping power is derived from a Hydroboost Assisted Braking complimented by Wilwood 4-wheel brakes. The vehicle’s original 4-point roll cage has also been fully restored on a slightly-lifted chassis and two newly implemented axles, a Dual 44 in the front and Ford 9” in the rear.

The Original & Best

While Ford fans are eager with anticipation for the Bronco's 2020 redux, there remains a robust market for restored originals. Off-road aficionados worldwide will be hard-pressed to find a better reproduction of the original Ford Bronco's unforgettable style and impressive performance than those churned out regularly by Velocity Motors.
