Value Proposition

Building a pristine street rod/hot rod certainly isn't a cheap endeavor if it's done right. The parts required to bring a vintage vehicle up to modern, show-quality standards cost a lot, and that is clearly evident with this beautiful 1937 Ford pickup headed to Mecum Auctions' upcoming Glendale, Arizona sale. In fact, the seller has $200k in receipts for the build, making it a possible value proposition for prospective buyers.

Always in Style

Thankfully, all of that money appears to have been well spent, which isn't always the case with these machines. There's no tacky paint job here, just a subtle but attractive green hue. There also isn't some giant set of gaudy wheels, but rather a classic set of "knock-offs" that won't ever go out of style.

Providing Contrast

The same goes for the very attractive interior, most of which is now covered in brown leather, including the bench seat, door panels, and steering wheel. Tan carpet provides a nice bit of contrast, as does a classic white shift knob adorning the floor shifter.

Modern Ride

The rest of the truck has been treated to a host of modifications, including a five-inch widening of the body. The body remains all steel, however, and now rides on a custom TCI frame with air suspension, which gives it a modern ride and handling characteristics, as well as the ability to adjust ride height as needed.

Extra Set of Rollers

The truck apparently comes with an extra set of wheels and tires, in this case steelies with chrome hub caps and white wall rubber for an even more classic hot rod look. That way, the new owner can swap them out depending on what sort of mood they're in.

Blue Oval Power

Capping off this tasteful build is a stroked-out 302 V8 that displaces 347 cubic-inches. The Blue Oval mill is backed up by a C4 automatic transmission, all of which has a mere 2,000 miles on it. Clearly, someone is going to get a very sweet classic Ford pickup when this thing goes up for grabs in a couple of weeks, and they very likely won't have to pay $200k for the privilege, either.
