Big Bronco Looks like It Just Emerged from a Time Capsule
Take a time warp back to the '70s with this cool custom Ford Bronco that's survived the ills of time.
Retro Custom
When we call a specific vehicle a "time machine," it can mean a few different things. Typically, we're referring to a vehicle that's remained mostly original and in surprisingly fantastic condition despite being decades old. But in the case of this beautiful 1979 Ford Bronco, we spotted over at Mecum Auctions, it's more of a retro custom time capsule than a survivor of any sort.

From a Different Era
To be fair, the auction listing doesn't state whether this Bronco was customized decades ago or weeks ago. But judging by its modifications, we're betting on the former. After all, the unique graphics, chrome light bar, and various other old school touches just scream '70s/'80s custom.

New and Old
That theme continues over to the interior as well. Things like the old fashioned GT steering wheel and giant tach are the sort of stuff you just don't see much anymore. But there is a set of newer Recaro seats up front, along with a matching rear seat.

Low Miles
Equipped with the Ranger XLT trim package, this old Bronco is certainly as nice as they get, inside and out. Which should come as no surprise, as the auction listing states that the 'ute has what is believed to be only 48,000 original miles showing on the odometer.

Nut and Bolt
Regardless, a previous owner completed a total nut-and-bolt, frame-off restoration on the Bronco. And the results of that work certainly shines through, no matter where you look. Inside and out, top to bottom, they just don't get much nicer than this.

Too Clean?
If you wanted to take this cool old Bronco off the road, however, it's certainly capable of getting you there. The SUV has been treated to a four-inch lift, along with 35-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. But then again, the undercarriage is so clean you'd want to break out a hose afterward.

Tough Get Tougher
The Bronco even has a winch, just in case you get a little too crazy and find yourself stuck. There's also a roll bar, for basically the same reasons. Nothing too crazy, however, as this gen Bronco is known for being pretty tough as is, straight from the factory.

Row Your Own
Pop the hood, and you'll find what the seller claims is a 6.6-liter V8 sitting under the hood. No word on modifications, but it's certainly dressed up nicely. The mill sends power back to a 4-speed manual transmission, so you can row you own just like they did in the old days.

Love at First Sight
This clean custom Bronco doesn't come with a whole lot of details, but we know a cool ride when we see it. And in our humble opinion, anything that was built or looks like it was built back in this era is just fine in our book. Especially when it's as highly detailed as this big-bodied Bronco!
