Bronco Driver Decides To Send It With Disastrous Results
This is why you listen to the professionals.
Precarious Situation
The sixth-generation Ford Bronco is undoubtedly a capable vehicle in terms of off-road situations, as we've seen multiple times in the past. However, while it can somewhat make up for boneheaded decisions by the person driving it, the Bronco also can't escape all of them. That much is abundantly clear in this video from Bent Off-Road Recovery, which recently set out to rescue a Bronco owner that found themselves in a precarious situation while enjoying the trails near Five Mile Pass in Utah.
Getting Stuck
The owner of this Bronco was visiting from another state and wanted to enjoy his new SUV on some of the finer trails in Utah, and that's precisely what he was doing until he got stuck on a snow bank. After calling up Bent, his rescue team arrived and began working on figuring out how to free him from this predicament.
Moving Out
After hooking up a strap, the rescue Toyota quickly discovered that it wasn't going to find traction in a straight line either, so the team resorted to moving in another direction. That worked like a charm, and soon, the Bronco was sitting at a steep dip in the ground that would prove challenging to get past, too.
Ignoring Advice
Thus, our rescue team instructed the Bronco driver to take things very slowly to avoid damaging the vehicle or getting stuck a second time. However, the owner decided to ignore that advice and simply send it, which resulted in the Bronco blasting into the dip and right back out of it.
Big Problem
At first, this attempt seemed successful, but a member of the rescue team immediately noticed a problem - the rear glass on the Bronco's hardtop shattered after the bumper smacked the ground with a ton of force, which also sent the spare tire upward.
Good to Go
The aftermath was quite awful, with the entire rear portion of the Bronco suffering some sort of damage, to the point where the owner was afraid to drive it on public roads. Regardless, after an inspection, the team deemed it good to go.
Not Unscathed
Things worked out alright in spite of this unnecessary damage, and the owner was able to get back to civilization with no problem. However, they could have done so with their SUV and pride intact, had they only listened to a professional that's been doing this kind of thing for years.
