Stunning Example

There are various levels of restoration. Some revolve around simple things like a paint job or interior restitch. Then, on the opposite end of the spectrum, you've got vehicles like this incredible 1978 Ford F-250. Headed to Mecum's Davenport sale on November 6-9, it's an absolutely stunning example of what lots of labor hours and dollars can do for an old pickup.

No Expenses Spared

According to the seller, it took a full seven years to bring this F-250 from its former shape to this stage. And they also note that it's one of those "no expenses spared" sort of restorations. Judging by the photos provided, we certainly can't argue with that statement, either.

Top Notch

The bodywork appears to be absolutely flawless, the kind that only top-notch craftsmen can achieve. The same goes for that gorgeous two-tone paint, which was certainly laid down by someone who has mastered their craft. Likewise, all of the chrome trim appears to be brand new.

Labor of Love

A labor of love, indeed. And this is a level of restoration we're just beginning to see devoted to old pickups. In the old days, no one would dare spend this kind of cash on a '70s vintage pickup. But we're entering a new era where these trucks are going to be commanding serious money before long.

Brand New

Of course, you can't put this kind of effort into the exterior without also expending similar energy inside. And this F-250 certainly doesn't disappoint there, either. Everything here looks brand new, from the faux wood trim to every single stitch in the seats.

Never Driven?

Peek underneath this vintage four-wheel drive, and it's just more of the same. In fact, it looks like this truck has never even accumulated one mile on its odometer. Nothing, from the exhaust to the various electrical wires underneath here look like they've ever been used or dirtied.

Minor Upgrades

This F-250 certainly isn't 100% stock, but only tasteful modifications have been performed here. That includes a set of more modern aluminum slotted wheels, which are wrapped in BF Goodrich All Terrains. And there's nothing wrong with those little upgrades in our book.

Mystery Engine

The seller failed to provide any underhood shots, but it sure sounds like this F-250 has been treated to quite the power upgrade as well. Under the hood lies a 504 cubic-inch engine of unknown origin. But obviously, this is some sort of bored and/or stroked mill. And it's something we'd be curious to hear some specs on, for obvious reasons.

Telling a Story

Regardless of the lack of information on this classic beauty, we'd still be more than happy to place a bid on it. After all, as they say, pictures are worth a thousand words. And the provided shots of this gorgeous Ford pickup tell us almost everything we need to know about it!
