More goodness from SEMA

For the 2017 SEMA show in Las Vegas, BDS Suspension crafted a normal F-250 Super Duty in a massive orange bang of off-duty goodness. Given the alphanumeric name of Project SD126, with the first part being an abbreviation of Super Duty and the following numbers designating the shortened wheelbase of the vehicle from 142 inches to 126 for better maneuverability. That amazing color job was done by Butler body shop who laid the entire body in shocking PPG orange metallic paint.

Everything has to start somewhere

When the truck first began life it was a base F-250 4x4 Super Duty XLT Regular Cab with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel engine under the hood. Once BDS got their hands on it a plethora of parts of modifications began that would transform it into what you see above. Firstly a cold air intake from S&B and a Diamond Eye exhaust system help the truck to breathe a little easier. For engine tuning, there is an EZ-LYNK programmer so every available bit of power can be extracted from the powerplant. Power is then sent through the stock 6-speed TorqShift automatic to an F-450 Dana 60/M300 10-lug axles with 4.30 gearing, by way of JE Reel front and rear drive shafts.

More than capable

Some of the other suspension mods done to the truck are a four-link front conversion and a rear trailing arm conversion. On all four corners, there are now Fox 2.5 DSC ( Dual-Speed Compression) coilvers with 3.0 external bypass dampers, allowing 14 inches of travel. Pac Racing provided the coil springs as well as the sway bar with bump stops being Fox 2.0 IFP units.

Full size spare means no worries

On the outside, there are Rogue Racing front and rear bumpers, AMP Research powersteps and above the engine is a ram air hood from RK Sports. Equipped on the truck are Warn Zeon 12-S winch with a Factor 55 FlatLink, and in the front, there is a 40-inch RDS lightbar from Rigid Industries flanked on both sides by Rigid amber radiance pods. The F-250 rides on bead-lock capable Stazworks Cheyenne 8 wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Baja TA KR tires. Giving those massive wheels and tires some shade are McNeil Racing fiberglass fenders and bedsides to accommodate the wider track that the truck now has.

On the interior

In the cabin, there are Kicker system components straight out of the Ford Licensed Accessories catalog including speakers and a 12-inch CompRT subwoofer. To keep the driver and passenger comfy there are PRP Racing recliner seats hooked up with 5.3 harnesses and a Magellan eXplorist TRX GPS system to keep things on track.
