Aftermarket Company Introduces Power Retractable Soft Top For the Bronco
The new eTop retractable roof makes it significantly easier to enjoy the open-air qualities of the Bronco.
Introducing the eTop
For Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco enthusiasts, soft tops add to the thrill of open-air driving, but frequent setup and takedown can be a hassle. Now, Bestop is set to introduce an innovative power retractable roof, the eTop, specifically designed to make the process easier and faster. Slated for release on November 8, this automatic roof operates with the simple push of a button, giving off-roaders a quick and easy way to enjoy the open air.
Enhanced Convenience for Off-Road Enthusiasts
The eTop takes soft-top convenience a step further by transforming it into a fully automatic system, like a convertible. With its motorized setup, users can raise or lower the roof in seconds, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. “This provides the ultimate convenience in soft top operation,” says Bestop, highlighting its commitment to improving the off-road experience. This move could appeal to both new and seasoned off-roaders who want the freedom of an open roof without the usual manual effort.
Built for Durability and Weather Resistance
Beyond convenience, the eTop is built to last. The roof features laser-cut steel linkages and durable electric motors rated for over 10,000 cycles, promising longevity even with frequent use. The eTop's triple-layered fabric includes a chemically coated outer layer that repels water and resists UV damage, offering protection against weather elements. Additionally, its tinted vinyl windows, which offer a 27% light transmission rate, add a layer of privacy and shield against sunlight, enhancing comfort for occupants.
A Product of Bestop's Strategic Acquisition
The development of the eTop comes on the heels of Bestop’s acquisition of myTop, a move that has expanded its capabilities in the soft-top market. myTop, known for its innovation in motorized soft tops, initially developed this technology for the Bronco and Wrangler, which is now rebranded as the eTop under Bestop. The eTop will be backed by a 24-month warranty, underscoring Bestop’s confidence in the product's quality and reliability.
Expected Pricing and Future Expansion
Though Bestop has yet to confirm the eTop’s exact price, myTop currently lists similar motorized roofs for both the Bronco and Wrangler at $4,995. Additionally, a version for the Jeep Gladiator is reportedly in development, expanding the potential options for off-road enthusiasts.
Bestop plans to offer OEM options and aftermarket versions of the eTop, allowing for flexibility in installation. Whether installed by professional installers or DIY enthusiasts, the eTop promises to be user-friendly. More details are expected at the SEMA Show next week.
