Today Ford released their Q4 and full year 2024 sales results. It was another banner year for the automaker. The F-Series extended its best-selling truck streak to 48 years. Bronco and Expedition sales soar. Electrified vehicle sales set another record. And in total Ford sold more than 2 million vehicles in 2024. Lincoln also got in on the act with its best sales year since 2007. There is a lot of news to sort through, so let’s get to it.

1. F-Series Is America’s Best-Selling Truck For 48th Straight Year

This is the least surprising while simultaneously being the most impressive piece of news. The Ford F-Series has taken the crown of being America’s best-selling truck for the 48th straight year. Total F-Series sales were up 21 percent in Q4 2024. We have all gotten used to the F-Series coming out on top, but we should take a moment to recognize how incredible this streak is.

2. Ford Retail Sales Grow at Double the Industry Pace

Ford sales increased by 9 percent in Q4 2024. For the full year of 2024 Ford sold 2,078,832 vehicles. That is a full year sales gain of 4 percent. The total automotive industry increased sales by 2 percent in 2024. That means that Ford outpaced the industry by double. As a result, Ford market share expanded in 2024.

3. Ford Explorer Is America’s Best-Selling Three-Row SUV

In 2024, Ford sold a total of 194,094 Explorers. That was enough to make it America’s best-selling three-row SUV. Speaking of SUVs, Expedition sales were up 6 percent for a total of 78,035. Bronco family sales -- which includes both the full-sized Bronco and smaller Bronco Sport -- ended the year with a total of 233,873 sold. Q4 sales were especially strong with 62,568 Broncos and Bronco Sports sold, a 38 percent increase. For the year, Ford sold 771,042 SUVs.

4. Ford Is Number 1 in Commercial Vehicle Sales

Ford U.S. Class 1 – 7 commercial truck and van share grew to 41.2 percent. That puts Ford as the number 1 seller of commercial vehicles. Super Duty sales ended the year strong with a Q4 sales increase of 30 percent compared to Q4 2023. For the year Super Duty sales were up 14 percent compared to 2023.

5. Ford Transit Is America’s Number 1-Selling Van

In 2024, Ford sold 152,738 vans. That is an 18 percent gain compared to 2023. In Q4 alone, Ford Transit sales increased by 24 percent with sales of 38,457 units. These figures mean that the Ford Transit was America’s number-one-selling van.

6. Ford Number 1 in Hybrid Truck Sales
