8 Reasons Why Chevy Buyers Aren't All There
It is difficult to tell which brand is better, Ford or Chevy, but since Ford is better, here's why Chevy buyers aren't all there.
1. Fuel Economy
The Ford usually gets better gas mileage than the Chevy, especially when comparing the Ford F-150 and the Chevy Silverado. The F150 usually gets a few MPGs more than the Silverado, and now that the new models are out, the F-150 trucks still beat the Silverado with 1 MPG in the city, and 2 MPG on the highway. So why do people still buy the Chevy? We know it's not the looks—the mystery goes on.
2. Performance
It's rather obvious the Ford offers a larger variety of engines than the Chevy. Ford is known for horsepower, twin turbos, and four axle ratio. Chevy buyers tend to overlook the engines and go with the logo, then they realize later on that a bowtie logo isn't all that cool.
3. Safety
We can't deny Chevy's latest safety ratings; however, Ford has been beating Chevy's safety ratings quite frequently over the years. Although the latest Silverado scored perfect 5-stars in the NHTSA's crash test, the Ford still offers much better safety features, from a 360-degree camera, to inflatable seat belts. We are not saying Ford is better, but we will let the features speak for themselves.
4. Options
Chevy comes with quite a bit of impressive features, but if you can get more features for the same price, why wouldn't you do it? Ford offers a wider variety of features than the Chevy, especially in their line of trucks. So unless you don't want having the latest technology and all the fun features you can get, go buy a Chevy.
5. Towing Capability
One of the biggest reasons why Chevy buyers aren't all there is because they buy Chevy trucks for work, which means they get a lower towing capacity than what they could get with the Ford trucks. You can get 1,000 pounds more with the F150 than what you would get with the Silverado.
6. Value
The Chevy's price tag compares to the F150 and the Ram, as they are all almost the same if you know how to negotiate at the dealership; however, the crazy part is paying the same price tag for a truck with a lot less options, features, and capabilities. I guess the Chevy fans are hardcore and loyal, even when it doesn't make sense.
7. Cabin Size
When it comes down to it, the Chevy Silverado does offer a nice cabin, but again, when you compare it to a truck from the same category, like the F-150, you get a few inches more in the Ford than you would in the Chevy. If you're buying a truck, you are looking for space, and you should be able to feel the difference by just sitting in both trucks. We doubt the Chevy buyers sit in Fords, though; that would be a violation of their loyalty.
8. Experience
When you're seeking advice, you always go to the older uncle. Ford has proven to be the older, wiser uncle. Throughout time and since 1903, Ford proved that it can fight through obstacles, adversity, and even time. Although Chevy has been around for numerous years as well, it should still respect its elders.
