Quintessentially Cool

When you're talking about true American classics, no discussion is complete without a mention of the incredibly cool Highboy Ford trucks of the '70s. Sitting up so high you'd think they had lift kits, these are what most consider the quintessential pickups of the era. And you won't find many finer than this stunning '76 up for grabs at GR Auto Gallery.

'70s Excellence

For starters, you'll immediately fall in love with this Ranger-trimmed truck's red and white two-tone exterior. Nothing, in my humble opinion, signifies '70s excellence more than this old Ford's outer beauty.

Appropriately Pure

All the original trim and chrome is intact. Even the original wheels, which is something you don't see very often these days. They might be plain and simple, but they just look right at home here.

Slight Changes

That's not to say that this beauty is completely original, however. There is a Rough Country suspension setup underneath that gorgeous sheet metal. The previous owner also added headers for a little power and sound boost. And new 305/70/R16 white letter tires were wrapped around those factory wheels.

Burning Desire

All of these are tasteful and classy upgrades, we'd say, and nothing that can't be changed right back to stock. These awesome trucks are only growing in popularity by the day, making excellent examples like this one all the more desirable.

Unsolved Mysteries

The odometer on this F-250 shows only 68k miles, though no telling if that's original or if it's turned over. If this truck is in fact in original condition, however, it's a safe bet it hasn't traveled much further than that.

No Signs of Wear

The plush and immaculate interior matches up quite nicely to that stellar exterior, too. There are truly no real signs of wear, whether you're talking about the clean dash area or the cloth-covered bench seat.

Row Your Own

This F-250 is a nicely optioned pickup, as well, which is something you can't say about most trucks from the '70s. It packs a factory tach, power brakes, and power steering in a nice package. Sure, it's also got a 4-speed manual transmission, but we prefer to row our own around these parts.

Big Motor

Pop the hood, and you'll find the largest Ford engine offered at the time, at least in terms of cubic inches. Yes, we're talking about the mighty 460, a motor that packs more than enough grunt to move this big pickup around.

Going Strong

Overall, it's hard to find a bone to pick with this beautiful Ford F-250. It's a perfect representation of what we love about this era of Ford trucks. And we're happy to see that it's still going strong, all those years later!
