7 Collectible Ford Trucks to Catch Before They're Gone
Daily Slideshow: From NASCAR to Velociraptors to a Ford in a suit at the end.
Ecoboost V6
Collectibility depends on quality and timelessness, to be sure, but it also depends on the things a future generation values most. With the way the world is headed, eco-conscious and efficiency-oriented vehicles are going to be an increasing hotspot for consumers. Ford's Ecoboost V6 attempted to market a technical downgrade from the V8 as an enhancement in the name of efficiency. Luckily the risk paid off. People are looking for vehicles that find a balance between efficiency and power. The Ecoboost V6 is one of the first Ford trucks to really take this mentality to heart, and collectors of the future may well see it as a pioneer in growing trends.
Cragar Limited Edition F-150
Ford teamed up with Cragar, a vintage design company, to create this F-150. The Cragar Limited Edition F-150 was designed to reflect the timeless aesthetic of the classic 1970s American truck. A limited run, paired with an unfading look and updated performance means this one will have future collector status written all over it if it doesn't already.

F-150 Super Snake
If you've ever heard of Shelby Motors, it's not likely related to trucks, but rather the souped-up Mustang creations. Taking their penchant for high-prestige Mustangs and transferring it to the Ford F-Series, the Shelby Super Snake bore big similarities to the GT500 Super Snake. It's a limited edition, classic muscle car revamp of an American icon; what collector in their right mind wouldn't want to track one down?

NASCAR F-150
NASCAR and the Ford F-Series are monuments of American motor culture. In the mid-1990s, NASCAR began trying out pickup trucks on their massive tracks. It makes total sense that they would team up with Ford to create a vehicle that commemorated the milestone. 3000 NASCAR F-150s were made in 1998. These weren't just regular F-150s with racing decorations either; they were given licensed NASCAR parts as well. It was a brief partnership, but for the right kind of motor fan, it's hard to imagine a better pairing.

Hennessey Velociraptor
The F-150 SVT Raptor was already an awesome contribution to the F-Series line. This subset version, however, capitalizes on that design's dormant offroad potential. We've heard it's capable of 800+ horsepower with the right boost. This is a veritable motor beast; present and future Ford fans will do well to give it its due respect.

2016 Special Edition Appearance Package F-150
The F-150 turned 40 in 2017. The "Special Edition Appearance Package," produced for a limited run of F-150s in 2016, wasn't explicitly intended to celebrate this anniversary, but the special run of this could be seen as a special sort of birthday candle for future collectors looking back on the F-Series history. Any vehicle with a special appearance is going to be more visibly collectible than the rest anyway.

Lincoln Blackwood
Lincoln is the high-end division of Ford's operations. Usually reserved for luxury sedans and the like, the Lincoln brand was given its first pickup truck in the form of the Lincoln Blackwood. Designed by Patrick Schiavone, this truck was essentially a high-class equivalent of the rugged F-150. Due to poor sales ending its production after a year in 2002, it's also quite rare. That rarity, combined with the high performance and prestige factor make the Blackwood a truck worth collecting.
