New Options for a New Year!

The 2026 Ford Super Duty lineup is better than ever. However, that doesn't stop Ford from coming up with ways to improve it. But how do you improve a product that is already so highly regarded? Ford goes right to the source, their customers. Ford listens to what Super Duty owners say and tries to implement as many of their suggestions as possible. That feedback loop is something Ford is very proud of, and how they continue to make the Super Duty better every year.

It's still only March 2026, but Ford already has their sights set on the 2027 Super Duty model year. There are some significant changes coming for 2027 that will make the Super Duty more appealing than ever before. From expanded luxury trims to more off-road options, the 2027 models are shaping up to be better than ever. Our list here covers the biggest changes coming for the new model year, as well as a few Super Duty facts to remind you of how special this lineup of trucks really is:

1. Tremor Package Available on XL with STX Appearance Package

Everyone loves the Tremor Off-Road Package. The trim has expanded in recent years to include everything from the Maverick to the Super Duty. For 2027, the Tremor options are expanding once more. Currently, if you want a Super Duty with the Tremor package, you need to step up to the higher trim levels. But for 2027, Ford will offer the Tremor Off-Road Package on all Super Duty models starting with the XL Trim with STX Appearance Package. And you get all the same goodies such as 35-inch tires, factory lift, electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, Trail Control, and Rock Crawl Mode. Now you can get serious off-road ability at a lower price point.

2. Tremor Now Available on Crew Cab With Long Box

The news just keeps getting better for Tremor fans. Ford said that the biggest complaint about the Tremor package is that owners wanted it but needed an 8-foot bed. For 2027, that wish is becoming a reality. The Tremor Off-Road Package is now available on Crew Cab trucks with the 176-inch wheelbase and 8-foot bed. Of course, the 6 3/4-foot remains an option as well. No matter what bed size you choose, all the same great off-road bits from the Tremor package are included.

3. XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package

As great as the Tremor package is, it does add a decent chunk of change to the MSRP. Some owners want a bit of additional off-road ability and ground clearance without having to spring for the Tremor package. That is where the XL Off-Road Package that Ford introduced in 2023 comes in. At just $995, it gave customers 33-inch off-road tires, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, and water-fording capability on an XL trim work truck. For 2027, there is a new package called the XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package. It includes a factory ride height increase, limited-slip front differential, electronic locking rear differential, performance shocks, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, Rock Crawl Mode, and transfer case and fuel tank skid plates with 35-inch tires on an XL trim work truck. And it comes without branded graphics on the truck, which allows business owners to more easily apply their own graphics.

The existing XL Off-Road Package is renamed XL Off-Road 33-Inch Tire Package for 2027. Either package can be paired with the available Ford Performance 12,000-lb. Warn Winch.

4. Platinum Trim Series Expands to F-350 through F-550 Chassis Cab Models

It may seem a bit unusual, but owners of Super Duty Chassis Cab trucks sometimes want a bit of luxury as well. Ford says that they have been asked many times by an owner-operator of a high-dollar overlanding rig, a custom horse hauler, or a tow rig for their race team, "Why can't I get a Platinum interior on my F-550 Chassis Cab?" Beginning in 2027, they can. The Platinum trim series will now be available on F-350, F-450, and F-550 Chassis Cab trucks. And it comes with all the pampering features you would expect, such as a Platinum-grade interior, leather seating surfaces, and SYNC 4.

5. 2027 Super Duty Carhart

This was announced earlier this year, but it makes sense to reiterate here. Ford and Carhartt have formed a multi-year strategic partnership that will include new co-branded merchandise and a Super Duty Carhartt truck. There are not many details available at this time about what the truck will entail. All Ford has offered so far is that inspiration for many of the details of the truck came after Ford designers visited the Carhartt store in downtown Detroit last year. More details should be announced soon, and we will share them with you.

6. 2027 Availability

The 2027 Super Duty trucks are going to offer some meaningful upgrades compared to the 2026 models. Order books will open in May. Pricing has yet to be announced. Looking a bit further ahead, we are expecting an all-new, sixth-generation Super Duty in late 2028 as a 2029 model. This new generation is expected to have a “multi-energy” powerplant. This means it will likely have an extended range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain. EREVs combine big battery packs with electric motors and a gas generator. The gas generator is there to provide additional power to the battery pack to increase range and reduce charging times. But a lot can change between now and the reveal of the next-generation Super Duty so we will just wait and see.

7. Super Duty Facts

The Ford Super Duty is not just our favorite truck, but it is an award-winning truck as well. Vincentric named the 2025 Ford F-250 as the Best Value in America for the Full-Size 3/4-Ton Pickup segment for the seventh time in total and its fourth consecutive win. They also awarded the 2025 Ford F-350 the Best Value in America for the Full-Size 1-Ton Pickup segment, its tenth time winning the award. J.D. Power Names Super Duty #1 Heavy Duty Truck for Initial Quality Study. Ford Super Duty and Chassis Cabs hold 50 percent of the market share in its class in the utility industry. 53 percent in the mining industry, 47 percent in the emergency vehicle industry, and so on. The point is that top industries rely on Ford heavy-duty trucks more than any other brand.
