5 Ways to Know You're Intimidating Small Car Owners
The Ford truck is not only reputable for being a work truck, it has another reputation on the streets.
1. Mud Puddles
Whenever you drive towards a mud puddle, you will notice all the small cars slow down or speed up so they are not near the mud puddle as you drive through it. Although speeding up through a mud puddle and watching the mud splash like a Hawaiian pipeline wave is something every truck owner enjoys, they usually don't splash other cars on the road; however, it is always fun seeing the little cars move away from the puddle.
2. Lane Changing
We are all aware of a mysterious spot called the blindspot; however, small car owners think a Ford truck's blindspot is much bigger than it really is. Just because your truck is big and high off the ground, other cars on the road truly believe you will change lanes and end up on top of them. The fact is most truck drivers pay special attention to lane changing; they simply don't want the liability of landing on top of a Prius.
3. Tailgating
Whenever you drive your big Ford Truck on the road, you will almost always see a few cars that change lanes from in front of you. Sometimes the drivers will give you a look as you pass them, thinking you were tailgating them. The reality is a big Ford Truck looks intimidating in the rearview mirror, and even though it could be 300 feet away from their cars, the big, shiny, smiling grille makes it feel like it is almost touching their rear bumpers.
4. Parking Lot
The parking lot is a scary place for little cars, especially when parked next to a Ford truck. Most small car drivers will think twice before exiting their cars when parked next to a big Ford truck. No one knows if they think truck owners don't care about opening their doors wide and slamming into their windows, or if they think the front wheel will go over their hoods as the truck backs-up, but they are terrified of parking near big trucks. If you've ever driven a big truck, you know you pay extra attention in small parking lots, and let's face it, you are probably a better driver than the average Corolla driver.
5. Cowboy Effect
Cowboys have always driven big trucks when they weren't riding horses, that is just the way it has always been. Most small cars expect a cowboy, with two firearms around his hips, to come out of the Ford truck, which is why you never see a road rage incident between a Civic and a Ford truck, because that Civic driver doesn't want to see what comes out of the big, bad truck.
