5 Things Ford Got Right With the New Bronco
The devil is the details. And when it comes to the new Bronco, Ford designers rolled up their sleeves and got to work to create the best off-road adventurer known to man.
Decades in the Making
The newest iteration of the legendary Ford Bronco brand has been one of the most long-awaited returns in the history of the automobile industry. The new Bronco is so cool, it comes with its own sidekick (the Bronco Sport). And while we patiently wait for an opportunity to see these magnificent beasts in person and drive one, here is a list of 5 easily overlooked, yet crucial aspects of the off-roader's design where Ford hit the bulls-eye.
1. Portal in the Door
Straight out of the McLaren Senna's playbook, having the optional openings in the doors was a great idea for the Bronco. It allows for more visibility on the sides, which is useful both on city streets and off-road courses. And on top of all of that, they look pretty darn cool!

2. Correct Size Tires
The diameter, width, sidewall size, and spacing of the wheels and tires are incredibly important to the look of a vehicle. Getting those proportions to match the profile and character of a car or truck is an art form and a skill that few possess. Having a professional automotive designer for a brother, I like to think I have developed a trained eye for this sort of thing. And I think most car designers would agree with the notion that, even in base trim, the 2021 Bronco has the 'correct' size tires... Unlike the Wrangler!

3. Front Fascia
Some have taken issue with the front fascia styling of the Bronco. But in our eyes, this look strikes a perfect balance between the character of the original Bronco and the modern aesthetic of Ford trucks. And like it or not, no one can deny the powerful personality of the new king of offroad.

4. Removable Panels
Having removable panels to allow for the most immersive off-road adventure experience was a no-brainer. It's no secret that the Bronco is here to battle the Jeep Wrangler. And while Ford's done a great job of improving in areas where the Jeep falls short, they've also recognized where the FCA product has been successful. And the modular and having removable panels was definitely the right call.

5. Sasquatch Package
The Sasquatch Package is almost Ford's way of saying "we've got you covered." Regardless of what trim of the Bronco you go for, this optional heavy-duty pack is available for you to turn your Bronco into a real rock crawler. The Sasquatch package adds 35″ tires and a whole host of off-roading technology to take any Bronco to the next level.
