5 Locations to Off-Road Your Ford Truck
So you got yourself a mean Ford 4x4 and want to play with the big boys? Check out these top 5 off-roading environments.
1. On the Rocks
The tough man competition starts here. There's no other badass environment than a literal field of rocks. We're not just talking normal little rocks here either. Boulders. Big ones. What better playground for a big boy toy than this? This is where you leave it all on the table, it's all in and no turning back. This Ford Raptor is having one of those pucker factor 10 moments in Canyonland National Park.

2. The Mud Bath
Maybe not as ballsy, but probably the most fun ever, is taking your Ford into the mud pit. Mud runnin' with your Ford is one of the best things you can legally do in your Ford out in public. This F-150 is being treated to a mud bath in the Paden Mudbog in Oklahoma.

3. Playing in the Sandbox
While muddin' can be a bit dangerous to all your moving parts, sand is a little more friendly to the mechanical workings of your rig. You can have almost as much fun in the sand as you can in the mud or rock-hoppin', and really put your truck to the test. This 4.0L V6 Ford Ranger is having a blast bustin' the sand at the Dunes in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Time to put away the BMX and get a real toy.

4. Trailing the Off-Roads
If you have a freakish need for speed but not on the pavement, then off-roading your truck on the trails is just what you are looking for. Trail riding combines the overdose action of adrenaline pumping through your veins and the white-knuckle x-factor of falling off a boulder the size of Jupiter's third moon. Pop your rig into 4WD and mash the gas and go like you've never gone before. Few things in life can be nearly as fun as this F-150 pounding the trails in Coyote Flats, California, 11,000 feet above sea level.

5. Snow Babies
So for those of us less fortunate enough to live in the cold, white north rather than the deep south or far west, we have to play in what we can get. Fortunately for us, running in the snow is a blast, comparable to hitting the dunes and trails. You'll soon forget the cold when you pull a sliding 360 getting that rush of "Oh Crap" adrenaline realizing that you are about an inch or two away from being completely out of control. This F-150 is a having a blast doubling as a snow blower.
