5 Best/Worst Parts About Being a Ford Enthusiast

If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you are a Ford enthusiast. You might be a fan of one particular product or the entire portfolio. You may have been a Ford fan for your entire life, or you could be new to the brand. We all have our own story about how we became fans of the blue oval. But no matter how you got here, we are glad you made it. There are some great things about being a Ford enthusiast. However, there are also some not-so-great things that come along with it. We made a list of the top five worst and best parts about being one of the Ford faithful.  

Worst #5 – Chevy Fans

This might not apply to every single Chevy fan, but there is no question that some of them are insufferable. In their mind anything with the bowtie is better than any Ford product. And, we must recognize that there are a lot of Chevy fans out there. They are all too happy to talk down about Ford products. That of course will never stop us from buying a Ford, but those Chevy fans can be annoying to listen to.  

Best #5 – Fellow Ford Fans

Chevy fans might be annoying, but the good news is that there are millions of Ford fans that have your back. Of course, there are the friends you can make on Ford Truck Enthusiasts, but there are a ton of events in real life as well where you can meet folks. Ford people help out Ford people. It is like an extended family. With a Ford you will have no shortage of folks to support you.

Worst #4 – Some Great Ford Products Not Sold in the U.S.

If you live in the U.S., you get access to a large portfolio of fantastic Ford vehicles. However, there is still some tasty forbidden fruit out there. There are some cool Ford rides that folks in other parts of the world can buy but we are denied access. It is frustrating that an American company doesn’t always get all of the best Ford vehicles.

Best #4 – Trucks Built in the U.S. / U.S. Workforce

We might not get all of the vehicles Ford makes, but we can feel good about the fact that Ford employs a lot of American workers. At the end of 2022 Ford reported that they employed nearly 86,000 workers in the U.S. Every F-Series truck is assembled in this great country. Ford assembles more vehicles in America than any other automaker. Buying and driving a Ford gives you a sense of American pride.  

Worst #3 – Ford Quality

We love Ford vehicles but if we are honest, we have to admit that they are not always of the best quality. Ford is working on improving the situation, but there is a history of recalls that doesn’t exactly build confidence. If Ford can focus on and fix these quality issues, it would eliminate one of the worst parts about being a Ford enthusiast.

Best #3 – Ford Innovation

Ford is an innovator. Ford vehicles often have new features and technology that other manufacturers don’t offer. Take a look at the newest Super Duty or the 2024 F-150. These trucks are packed with innovative features. It is one of the things that we love the most about Ford. A Ford product is an innovative product.

Worst #2 – Mustang Memes

We love the Ford Mustang. We don’t love all the Ford Mustang memes. A Ford Mustang doesn’t always do burnouts and then run over pedestrians when leaving a cars and coffee event. Sure, there are some knucklehead Mustang owners out there, but that is a tiny minority. Yet, we are inundated with memes about dumb Mustang drivers. It would never stop us from buying a Mustang, but the negative press is certainly frustrating.

Best #2 – The Iconic Mustang

Ford makes the Mustang. And no matter what the memes say, it was, is, and always will be one of the most iconic vehicles ever made. Name all the current American sports cars that you can buy with a naturally aspirated V-8 engine and a manual transmission. Not a very long list, is it? The new Mustang can be an affordable, economical cruiser. Or a $300K super car. And just about everything in between. The Mustang alone is reason enough to be a Ford fan.

Worst #1 – Diesel Trucks Have Never Been More Expensive

Ford diesel trucks are getting really expensive to buy. They are also getting expensive to maintain. It is a shame because if money were no object, they are amazing vehicles. But for just about everyone, money is an object and a big one. Buying a new Ford truck is an expensive proposition. You can easily spend six figures on a loaded truck. Not too long ago, that kind of money got you an exotic sports car.

Best #1 – Diesel Trucks Have Never Been Better

On the plus side of the expensive new Ford trucks is that they are better than ever. They make more power, tow more than ever and have an incredible payload capacity. They are also the safest and most technologically advanced trucks Ford ever built. They can work all day on the job site and then take the family out to a nice dinner than evening. These incredible trucks are the best part about being a Ford enthusiast.
