2019 Ford F-250 is More Than Meets the Eye
This work truck/support vehicle by DeBerti & Son is one unique specimen.
Once & Future King
Truck magician Doug DeBerti and his son Brad have carved a particularly awesome niche in the truck restoration community with their dual-purpose rig, and the 2019 Ford F-250 they conjured for the 2018 SEMA Show was an ideal example. In fact, this suped-up F-250 had has many heads turning as it does customized compartments, illustrating what many had already assumed: there’s never been a truck like this.

A Tradition of Excellence
The elder Doug DeBerti has been modifying vehicles since his boyhood days in Montana. As an adult, DeBerti relocated to Southern California with just $800 and a dream to make his mark in automotive customization. His first company, Trenz, specialized in making custom aluminum parts for the automotive aftermarket. DeBerti’s skills have been recognized by big auto manufacturers since his first years in the business.

Uniquely Skyward
DeBerti & Son’s ’19 Ford F-250 first eye-catching addition was that of a custom pre-runner-style front bumper and T6061 aluminum grille. That said, “eye-catching” wasn’t exactly the father-son duo’s goal when in the concept phase of this ’19 F-250. The main goal was to design a work truck that was sleek and unsuspecting of what it harbored within, a concept that gained traction when the two discovered a unique hinge system that swung upward to open.

Unreal Utility
Perhaps the most unique aspect of the DeBerti’s F-250 custom is the truck’s utility bed, which is hidden by bedsides that swing upward to open, revealing a bed stocked full of BOXO hand tools that all-but-invisible when the truck is in its “Stealth” mode. To achieve full-stealth, the F-250’s bed was removed so that skeleton box frames could be constructed over the chassis. A series of custom hinges were installed to form a completely unique utility bed that’s doubtless the envy of contractors everywhere.

Ready to Roll
The truck is stabilized by patent-pending SM Series Limited Dynamic Geometry traction bars, in addition to a set of Hellwig brand sway bars and Big Wig’s auto-leveling air-spring system. The system also features QA1 Motorsports Heim joints to complete its robust stability. The truck’s chassis is actually 4-inches wider than a traditional Ford F-250, complete with a pre-runner-style front bumper and custom headlights by the well-known custom parts firm Bullseye Retros.

Light Roller
The trick rack features Rigid Industries’ individually adjustable LED lights for ultimate visibility. It’s custom paint job is Sherwin Williams Sapphire — a deep black tinged with just a hint of blue, which is an awesome detail that’s visible when you see the truck up close. The top of the cab includes a custom-made light bar featuring LED beacons from Rigid Industries. In addition, bar contours to the round shape of the windshield, where the truck’s lights are individually adjustable to be focused wherever the job calls for.

Super Spy
Inside, a Roadwire Leather interior is a distinguished upgrade to the inside of the cab, complete with enough custom upholstery to make both driver and passenger ride in complete comfort to and from every drop. Eager to include as many cool secrets as possible the DeBerti Design team also included a rear utility compartment that holds a Miller suitcase welder. When the drawer is slid back, the rear bumper hides it —so you don’t know it’s there until it’s unveiled. The DeBerti's design isn’t just a comfortable, powerful ride —it can also repair just about any mechanical on the road thanks to an incredible series of onboard tools. Keep an eye out for DeBerti trucks throughout the calendar year, or, at least, keep an eye out for what their incredible customizations offer at first sight. With this talented crew, there’s no telling what each rig is hiding!
