Celebrated Collectible

Ford trucks have long served more than just the private sector, taking on roles including police cruisers and firefighters. Today, vintage Ford fire trucks are celebrated collectibles, which is why it should come as no surprise that Greenlight Collectibles is transforming one special 1979 Ford F-350 firefighter into a die-cast collectible.

Go Anywhere Trucks

The F-350 served for many years as a brush truck at the Fallston Fire Department in Maryland. Brush trucks were more lightly equipped than full-fledged fire trucks, making them capable of reaching places where those big vehicles couldn't. However, they're also equipped with a water tank and pump to put out fires.

Special Example

This particular die-cast model was inspired by an F-350 owned by Ian McKee, who happens to have quite the collection of old Blue Oval pickups. "I wouldn't say I'm a collector, but I have a few trucks with that body style," McKee explained to The Shelby Star

Dream Truck

McKee currently owns two brush trucks, including this F-350, and will most likely have to add the die-cast version to his collection as well. "I like old Ford trucks and this just happened to be a low-mileage old Ford truck," he said. "I always kind of wanted it. I was still a kid when they sold it."
