Daily Slideshow: 1973 Bronco on Hot Rod Power Tour
Keeping the mods fairly light Colin goes for a simple restomod for daily driving over a wild build.
Through the years
Colin Smith bought this classic Bronco way back when he was in high school and stuck with it all the way through college. After a while, the relentless heat in Atlanta finally caught up with the multi-purpose vehicle and the A/C and Colin was forced to buy another daily driver.

The mod bug bit
Then in 2009, the truck returned to the world and Colin added half-doors, lifted it for four-wheeling, and chopped the top. The factory 302 and C4 transmission were left in place but the pieces of the stock Sport package were removed and in went an HEI distributor and power brakes.

That color came from where?!
Next, the Bronco got a bit of an update in the paint department by way of a shade that comes from a 1991 Ford Fiesta. Colin has the truck all sorted now and admits that the only thing that's wrong with it is a bad fuel filter. For the Power Tour, Colin will be setting off with his 14-year-old son and 10-year-old nephew to see a bit of the country and share in a mutual love of automotive things.

Do it again
The Hot Rod power tour is a seven-day seven-city journey that brings together over 6,000 vehicles and more than 100,000 spectators in what is the largest traveling auto show in the world. "There is a huge variety of people on the Tour, young and old with all kinds of builds. I wanted the boys to see that," Colin says. "I think they are never going to forget this experience. I guess we are coming back next year."

Bon voyage
We hope the truck served Colin and the boys well on the tour and they shared in something that they all will remember fondly for the rest of their lives.
