Job #1

Ford's C-Series line of heavy-duty trucks lasted a remarkably long time - well over 30 years in production. That long shelf life is nothing less than a tribute to their greatness. And even today, we'd bet that this gorgeous 1956 C800 we spotted over at Mecum Auctions is more than capable of getting even the toughest jobs done.

Vintage Hauler

You can also credit the C-Series' flexibility as a major factor in its lasting success. These cab-on-chassis models could be converted to do just about anything. This particular pickup has a hydraulic flatbed and winch, for example.

Retired Workhorse

Without question, whoever put this classic rig together did so with the intentions of making it a working car hauler. And even if it's more of a retired show horse today, we'd love to see it hauling somebody's matching classic car to shows

Original Looking

Despite the truck's few custom touches, it remains remarkably original in appearance. That includes the interior, which looks pretty much exactly as it did back in 1956.

Just the Basics

This is a bare bones working man's truck. There are no fancy fabric-covered door panels here, no plush leather seats. Just the basics required to get around and get the job done.

Understated Beauty

Even the exterior colors of tan and brown are, well, a bit understated. But that's exactly why we're digging them. This cool old classic speaks for itself and doesn't need a bright, fancy paint job to grab our attention.

Steady as She Goes

The drivetrain underneath the cab won't exactly set the world on fire either, but it'll get the job done. This old Ford is powered by a 332 cubic-inch engine, which is backed up by a 5-speed transmission.

Built to Last

Overall, this cool old COE is one unique build that's fully capable of continuing its mission of service for many years to come. And it's also just further proof that nothing works as hard or lasts as long as a Ford truck!
