There are many different levels of restorations. But this amazing 1949 F1 sits above most of them.

Green and Gold Beauty

The word restoration means a lot of different things these days. For most of us old school folks, it means that something has been refurbished completely in 100% original form. For others, the term is a little looser than that.

Some still call a truck restored if it's been redone, yet perhaps with a few changes from stock. Whatever your definition of the word boils down to, however, few can disagree that this gorgeous 1949 Ford F1, which we spotted over at Motor City Classic Cars, is on a whole new level of perfection.

Taken to the Extreme

The seller calls this F1 an "extreme body-off restoration" with "no expense spared," and who are we to disagree? Just one look at this gorgeous vintage pickup is enough to confirm that fact. Even if it isn't 100% original - perhaps more like 98-ish percent.

Match Made in Heaven

Their color choices here are spot on, too. Who knew Champagne and Emerald Green could possibly look so good together? It doesn't hurt that the post-war F1 was such an attractive truck, to begin with, fat fenders and all.

Underhood Art

Under the hood, you'll find the original 239 cubic-inch Flathead V8. But no '49 Ford ever rolled off the assembly line with an engine bay that looked this amazing. The addition of loads of chrome bits and insane attention to detail makes this area more art than anything else.

Period-Correct Perfection

The all-steel body is obviously original, but those wide whites and oak bed are not. They are, however, period-correct and perfect matches. And isn't that all that matters? This might not be a 100-point resto, but it is a gorgeous truck, nonetheless.

No Stone Unturned

In addition to those goodies, the builder also replaced all the glass and rubber bits. Because something this perfect would just look silly with any sort of imperfection, no matter where it might be.

Too Perfect?

It's a charming combination throughout, albeit one that we'd be afraid to drive. At least on the rock-laden interstate, or perhaps on a day with more than a 0% chance of rain. Which is obviously the downside of owning something so incredibly perfect.

Stock and Stunning

That attention to detail can also be found in the interior, of course. But here you won't find any sort of modern amenities or fancy additions - just a bone stock and spartan cabin. The two-tone theme does carry over, of course, with the addition of one more hue.

Leave It Alone

Adding to the color palette is a flat brown vinyl seat, which provides a nice contrast to the Champagne dash and doors. And unlike many other trucks from this era, the builder didn't hack up the dash or do anything stupid. They just left well enough alone.

Results-Driven

Overall, it's hard to argue with the stunning results of this '49 Ford F1 build. It might not be totally original, and it's certainly light years nicer than it was when it rolled off the assembly line all those years ago. But in this case, that certainly isn't a bad thing!
