1949 Ford F1 Restomod Has LS Power Under the Hood
This 1949 Ford F-1 has gone through extensive restomod work to give it a ton of power, performance, comfort, and the looks to take home trophies.
Ford Truck With GM Motor?
Anytime there you have a classic Ford truck restomod boasting GM power, it will undoubtedly be the source of discussion. There are those of us who believe it's sacrilegious to swap a competitor's power plant into a Ford. And there are those who love to see the versatile LS motor in any and all vehicles, regardless of brand.
Sacrilig? Or Genuis?
There is definitely a point to be made against placing an LS engine under the hood of a Ford truck. Especially, considering the fact that Ford offers its own capable V8 options. On the other side of the argument, though, you can't deny the universally accepted reliable power of the LS-based mills. Not to mention the fact that their modularity allows them to fit into almost any vehicle with ease.

Quality Restomod
And to be frank, when presented with such a beautifully-built restomod, it's easier to forget and forgive the Chevy logo under the hood of this 1949 Ford F-1. And the reworked power source is mated with a 4-speed transmission to smoothly put all the power down to the wheels.

Perfect Body Work
As can be judged by the photos, the body has gone through an extensive restoration to perfect the beautiful lines of the F-1. And the shiny black paint shows that off nicely. Lowering trucks to the ground isn't everyone's cup of tea. But the suspension underneath this restomod has been built with a tastefully adjusted ride height that doesn't diminish the character of the old truck.

Eye-Catching Interior
On the inside, the classic bench seat setup has been enhanced with modern upholstery and cushioning. The black and red color scheme continues here. And the level of craftsmanship in this interior shines through the photographs. The cabin maintains its classic feel, but modern creature comforts help make it easier to drive, especially considering all the power it boasts.

Craftsmanship at its Finest
And that same high level of craftsmanship is visible all throughout, especially back here in the truck's bed. The glossy lumber used here adds an old school element, which is a nice contrast from some of the modern features of the exterior, such as the LED lighting in the front and rear. This F-1 has been driven just over 2,000 miles since the rebuild was completed. More photos and info on this beauty can be found on the Streetside Classics website.
