Intro

Online auction site Bring a Trailer always has a wide selection of Ford vehicles up for sale. A quick search today reveals that there are currently nearly 70 active Ford auctions on the site. Many of these vehicles will sell when the auction ends. However, there are always some that fail to meet the reserve price and remain available after auction close. There are many reasons why a vehicle may fail to sell. The seller might have set the reserve price too high. Or the timing of the auction may have been less than ideal. Or perhaps the pictures or description of the vehicle leave something to be desired, so the truck fails to sell. But if you do your due diligence, there may be some great Ford truck bargains out there for you.

The seller of a Ford that fails to meet reserve may have some extra motivation to sell it outside of the live auction. This could mean finding the truck of your dreams for an excellent price. What we have here is a list of ten Ford trucks that went the auction this month and failed to meet reserve. There is a wide variety of Fords to choose from at several different price points. We wanted to bring these to you so you could research them on your own and perhaps work out a deal with the seller. The high bid is listed next to the model that was auctioned.

10. 1970 Ford Bronco ($30,000)

It is a bit of a project but this 1970 Ford Bronco with a 302 ci V8 engine could be a lot of fun. This Bronco has undergone a decent amount of work over the last couple of years. But it is not original, and there is still work to be done. Still, it can be a lot of fun to just cruise around in and work on as you see fit. The seller is 81 years old and moving into a retirement community which is forcing the sale. Perhaps this could be a good buy for someone looking for a fun older Bronco for reasonable money.

9. 1969 Ford F-250 Ranger Camper Special ($12,750)

This Sky View Blue 1969 F-250 Ranger Camper Special with a 390 ci V8 and 4-speed manual transmission just had significant work completed in December. The seats were reupholstered in blue vinyl, the headliner and carpets were refreshed, and braking components, tires, carburetor, fuel tanks, and fuel lines are new. This is a lot of truck for the money. The seller mentioned that he would be looking for $16,500 to let the truck go. Perhaps you could make a deal?

8. 1966 Ford M151A1 ($8,500)

At only $8,500 this is the lowest high bid on our list. And while just about everyone will call this a Jeep it is actually a 1966 Ford M151A1 which is a Military Utility Tactical Truck (MUTT). It also comes with a M416 trailer that has been painted to match the truck. If you are looking for that perfect Independence Day parade vehicle, this is it.

7. 2001 F-150 SVT Lightning ($26,900)

The second-generation F-150 Lightning is one of our favorite Ford trucks of all time. This Bright Red 2001 example has 61,000 miles and looks great with a clean Carfax report and clean Florida title. The truck has some tasteful modifications including a Bassani cat-back exhaust, lowered suspension, and a Pioneer touchscreen head unit. If you want to own one of these legendary trucks, this might be the perfect one for you.

6. 1997 F-250 HD 7.3L Power Stroke ($18,750)

Do you need a real workhorse of a truck? This 1997 Ford F-250 HD XLT Crew Cab with the venerable 7.3L Power Stroke might be just the ticket. With 100,000 miles, it is just getting broken in. The Carfax does note some minor accident damage, but this is not a truck for collectors, this is a truck for work, and it should be able to work for you for many years to come.

5. 2018 F-150 Shelby Baja Raptor ($55,500)

Do you want a badass truck to have a lot of fun in? Take a look at this 2018 Ford F-150 Shelby Baja Raptor SuperCrew with just 27,000 miles. This beautiful beast packs 525 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque. Other goodies include Shelby 18-inch wheels mounted with 35×12.5″ BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires. The Shelby-tuned Fox 3-inch Stage 2 Raptor suspension system has anodized aluminum hardware and adjustable controls at all four corners. A new F-150 Shelby Baja Raptor will cost you close to $150K This could be your chance to grab a very similar truck at a massive discount.

4. 2023 Bronco Wildtrak ($53,500)

This 2023 Bronco Wildtrak is the newest Ford on our list and with just 3,300 miles it is basically brand new. This spicy 4-door Wildtrak is painted in Hot Pepper Red Metallic and is equipped with a modular front bumper, gray hardtop, leather seats, and more. Original MSRP was $69,465. Not too long ago these were selling for well over MSRP. This might be your chance to grab one that is nearly new, at a nice discount.

3. 1961 F-100 ($15,000)

This 1961 F-100 is a beautiful truck. Why the top bid was only $15K is a bit of a mystery. Frenched taillights, dual exhaust, and polished 15-inch aluminum slotted mag-style wheels all contribute to the amazing presence that this truck has. Powering this beauty is a 292 ci V8 mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. It is not clear what the reserve was on this truck but if you can get this for anything close to $15K it is a steal.

2. 1950 F-1 Hemi 392 ($26,350)

This truck may divide the room a bit but if you are not a Ford purist, then this might be a great truck to put in your garage. This 1950 F-1 looks stunning in bright yellow paint. And there are a lot of upgrades on this rig, but there are also a lot of Dodge parts. The truck rides on a modified frame featuring a Dodge Dakota-sourced independent front suspension. Under the hood is a 392 ci FirePower Hemi V8. If that bothers you, then this is not your truck. But there is no question that this truck looks gorgeous and has all the performance you could ever want. We suspect that the reserve was set quite a bit higher than the $26,350 high bid. But if the seller is willing to negotiate, you might be able to score a lovely F-1 truck.

1. 2005 Excursion Limited ($26,250)

The Ford Excursion has earned a cult following in recent years. And if you are part of that cult, this 2005 Excursion might be the perfect SUV for you. This example has spent its entire life in California. It is powered by the 6.0L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8. This top-of-the-line Limited model has 100,000 miles on it, but it looks almost brand new inside. This is a well-cared for example that could easily be worth another ten grand on top of the high bid. Excursions in this condition are getting tough to find. This could be the one for you.
