Unfortunately it has to be about 1 1/2" outward in order to line up with the master cylinder. If you don't have a power brake booster it's possible to position it more directly. The joiner nut and spacers are temporary to holt the lever where it has to sit. Here it can still swivel freely until I mount everything and get the exact position so it hooks to the master cylinder rod perfectly.
