Been on here looking and listening to all of you about trucks and have just purchased a 2000 F250 V8 gas, super cab. I have a problem with the pass front seat belt because the belt was twisted about half way down in it when I got it. I tried to work it out and as I was doing that it went in more. My question is, how do you remove the cover on it to try to untwist the belt in the mechanism? It looks like it has 3 rivets in the cover, 2 on the bacl facing the seat and 1 on the rear. The unit sits on the floor between the seat and door. Any help would be appreciated on this.
Remove the floor trim next to the carpet to expose the bolts holding the seat belt retractor and other end of the belt. This avoids the need to drill out the fasteners securing the cover to the retractor.
